Here comes gun regulation! Department Of Justice will "enhance security", improved background checks for guns until Congress passes gun laws

Okay so what REALLY constitutes "improved background checks"? I suspect it will be "set all default responses to NO!!"

This is the same "Department of Justice" that illegally transferred firearms to Mexican drug gangs, which were later used to commit a couple hundred murders, including the murder of a US law enforcement agent.

The background checks were already pretty thorough. I bet now the number of false "prohibited buyer" will skyrocket. Thus thousands more innocent gunbuyers will have to fight through red tape to get cleared.

The NICS is a national system that checks available records on persons who may be disqualified from receiving firearms. The FBI developed the system through a cooperative effort with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and local and state law enforcement agencies.

So it looks like the Department of Justice will now be involved, I wonder if they will be able to make the final determination or what their role will be.

It may be they want so much red tape and hassle that most people will not even go to the trouble of obtaining it legally? If at all.

I've been thinking since all this government shitting on the 2nd amendment ,why are'nt people who want to own guns (and already have legal guns) just go out find blackmarket guns, buy some, and turn in the legal ones when 'they' come knocking? At least the law abiding gun owning citizens won't be left defenceless...Ya know as in - what the govt. don't know ya got-they don't know.

After seeing that Aussie vid yesterday about their crime rate raising since banning guns there, if I were a gun owner I wouldn't be left defenceless to the criminals who have illegal guns.

Most states allow for legal unpapered firearms transactions via a private sale. Ask if they are a private seller; if so, game on.

No paperwork is needed for long guns in most states, and in some handguns can be purchased privately. Check your state laws.

Almost all the people I know who have guns have two collections; a small one that they filled out ATF yellow forms and a larger one that was purchased legally and privately.
