Well yes, in an artificially created sealed environment. Otherwise known as a spaceship. As for how long though..

Re: Can humans survive without the sun?
At some point in human history man was without the sun for long periods of time...several years may have passed and the atmosphere would slowly clear from falling space debris or large scale volcanic activity.Massive dieoffs of every species on the planet would occur.
It would most likely be both events to cause the sun to be "greyed" out in the past. GLOBAL NUCLEAR WAR COULD CAUSE IT IN HOURS!
If you are asking if the sun would cease to exist tomorrow...man would have to go inside a the earth star for heat or vacate to another star system.
Would you want to live with out the sun...with the knowledge of the human experience on earth? Ask a blind person?

Re: Can humans survive without the sun?
Mankind could now survive FOREVER without the sun.

Nuclear power has made that possible.

Simply run the reactors, tunnel out the ground and have lots of glow lights. If we got 30 years notice the sun would be gone, we could pull it off and have everything in place to do it.

If the sun went nova tomorrow? who knows because the only people in the underground facilities would be unskilled useless eater elite types who would not know jack about moving forward on their own, and on top of that, whatever technical support people they had would probably be subjugated by them under an ocean of arrogance. I don't think they would ever want to work, they lack real world skills and would have to actually pick up rocks to be useful. If it was only THEM down there along with a few support personnel, without prior warning, they would need the efforts of EVERYONE just to make it and I seriously doubt the elite would actually "get it" with that concept.

If the sun went Nova tomorrow being underground would not help in the slightest. Leaving the solar system at a good percentage of the speed of light...maybe.
