Quoting: Anne O'Mally what if it IS a terror attack and they want to make a point about all the oil wars we're involved in? that would fit in with the chevron intel we are not getting from 20 questions. Not only do we have to worry about shills but also Limeys posting as Amerikans Quoting: Ready2bugout AKA R2B BOB Oh, for fuck sake. There are numerous Limeys in that area--going to school, and on job assignment. What is your point, exactly? My point is that they should be flying their own colors not our flag. I've encounter a lot of Berkley and SFSU Britts and believe me they are nothing but Sheep and I doubt they would be around this site |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 9395903 United States 08/07/2012 01:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For those of you who don't know the bay area the contrast between the area where the refinery are vs other parts is amazing. Quoting: Ready2bugout AKA R2B BOB Bay area has some beautiful features but a lot of these refinery are in what they use to called wastelands or filled in salt water flats. Those areas are very polluted and look like a scene from mad max Just took Amtrak down there from mtns. to Mountain View to the computer museum & passed that area for first time. I was a little surprised at the pollution. It was a mess. Why don't they clean it up? Has it always been that bad? And the Ghost Fleet just added to the eeriness. Around SF Bay are some of the most densely populated areas in North America. There's a ton of traffic, people, and detritus. Due in large part to the semiconductor industry, some areas are also heavily polluted; back when EPA had the Superfund, there where more Superfund sites in the South Bay than anywhere in the U.S. Visually, it's not nearly as bad as some of the beaches in Japan, which are littered with garbage. |
CHEVEYO User ID: 8078225 United States 08/07/2012 01:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in Richmond CA. I'm more worried about what this will do to animal life than people. People their all doomed anyways, but the animals are innocent. Quoting: CHEVEYO Are there ranches or anything near? Not in the vicinity of the plant itself. There's some horse ranches on the highway. But where the plume of smoke went, there are many ranches and farm land. CHEVEYO |

Yes in fact I roll up my car windows and turn off the AC/heater every time I drive through there. Even without a fire that plant puts out some noxious looking crap. Late at night when the plant's lights make the vapor clouds glow orange, it def looks like Mordor. You shiver and drive a little faster. |

Gas prices in Cali are already way high, so people have made some accomodation. This might tack on $0.20/gal for a few months. |

They told us to keep the doors and windows shut, can't even use the A/C and its a pretty hot night. Screw that I got my window open. Can't be much worse than what they dump in those chemtrails everyday. CHEVEYO |

It's not something that'll kill you now, it'll kill you in 10 years from breathing the shit in. Get a bowl of water and small towels, seal yourself in and cool off by laying the towels over your body. |
Anne O'Mally User ID: 21429013 United States 08/07/2012 01:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Smoke can cause eye, throat and respiratory irritation or aggravate breathing problems such as asthma. More info will be posted as it becomes available. HazMat staff are on scene monitoring the scene. For info on how to shelter-in-place, visit [link to cchealth.org] so ok, SMOKE can do that...what about extreme toxic smoke? worth my weight in squirrels. |

All it takes is for any GlP member that is stationed in Oakland, Treasure Island or Alamda to notice the boats go out in a hurry. The cutters never get dispatched two at a time so that would be a clue as well and out of the 4 uscg cutters there is always one in port. So anything out of that will be consider irregular movements |

Quoting: Anne O'Mally i suggest it must be so horrific nothing we could even imagine is as bad as it really is. that said, hypothesise away... i do want to play the 20 questions though. sounds fun. Yeah he claimed to have some low-down on Chevron. I thought maybe they could be in a financial bind of some kind and the fire was self-started . You know, like, literally, a "smoke screen"? Thing is I can't really come p with a plausible scenario. Unless their insurance will pay out more than they're going to owe the 300,000 clients of greedy lawyers who are even now as we speak emerging from the woodwork. [link to www.trefis.com] Chevron Ordered To Halt Operations; Could Impact Annual Output August 3rd, 2012 by Trefis Team A Brazilian court ordered Chevron (NYSE:CVX) to halt its operations in Brazil until the investigation related to the spills at the Frade fields are complete. The oil major will have to stop operations in 30 days or face penalties as high as $250 million. [1] Ah ... that's a good find! I wonder if there is some kind of victim card to be played here. "Gee we'd love to compensate Brazil for the Frade fields spill, but we're dealing with the situation in Richmond." Or ... "Our Richmond facility was so badly damaged that we can't really shut down the Brazilian one." Either that or someone is after Chevron - corporate sabotage - industry war. |
