could put the US war machine out of commission.

A west coast earthquake would not be near as effective.

But a New Madrid earthquake could severely disrupt east/west
transportation [including military] and oil/gas pipelines.
The economic fallout would destroy what is left.

Yellowstone - too dangerous... it's effects might be worldwide.
