Today in the Greek Orthodox calendar is the he Day of Memory for the victims of the Istanbul pogrom of September the 6th 1955.
The "Events of September" were organized mob attacks of 300,000 Turks, directed against the Greek minority of Istanbul. The riots were orchestrated by the Turkish government and Turkish PM Adnan Menderes, triggered by false news that the Turkish consulate in Thessaloniki has been bombed. A Turkish mob, most of which had been trucked into the city in advance and were promised the equivalent of 6 USD for their part, assaulted Istanbul’s Greek community for nine hours. These events signaled the end of the presence of Greeks and Greek civilization in modern Turkey after a continuous presence of 3000 years. Greeks in Istanbul were mainly saved/spared by the Greek Genocide (1914-1923) because of their significant role in the social and economic life of the city.
In August 1995, POTUS Bill Clinton proclaimed 6 September as a Day of Memory for the victims of the pogrom.

Not exactly a prophecy, but some info i found on a Greek Orthodox forum yesterday with some interesting info and updates about the prophecies. This info comes from a believer who has a Christian blog that i posted many times in this thread. This fellow met the daughter of priest John Kalaides these days, whom prophecies i've posted many times in this thread also.

"Some information that some of these have already been posted by Philip on his blog and others are not:
God willing I met today with the first daughter of the famous holy Elder Father John Kalaides and said the following about the events:
1. In a meeting with Elder Paisios in Fr. John Kalaides home in Serres in 1993, he asked the old man: Elder are we close to the events of Constantinople? and Elder Paisios answered not now Fr John in 20 years.
2. She confirmed that this year we will celebrate Easter in Agia Sophia in 5/5/2013, although generally I am totally opposed to the display of dates, let's have it in the back of our minds and that God wants will happen.
3. She also told me that Elder Sofronios from Essex said that Constantinople will be built over for 7 years by the Greeks because over there will only be ruins, and will become our capital after 7 years in 2020 after complete reconstruction, so those who do not have work for a while, have a little patience, jobs will open up, firstly as gravediggers as Elder Paisios told us.

I haven't posted this prophecies yet because i didn't consider them that important when i started this thread, but since we are having some movement on these issues the last week i decided to post them too. Prophecies involve the Northern Epirus issue and some kind of Albanian rebel movement and were told to pilgrims by Elder Paisios.

Pain for Northern Epirus is great, because we were a family and we parted. It's like saying one of your children to be separated from the other. This hurts! So many times we liberated northern Epirus, so much blood, so many frostbites! All these will not go wasted"

Yeah it's true that eventually will happen, financial crisis is already here and on the war front we have disputes and tensions in the Pacific, Caucasus, Greece, whole Middle East is in a mess, so yeah eventually things are going to blow up unfortunately. Hey, i hope your doing fine, as usual thanks for the updates and links. Looks like we have a second revolution in lybia? maybe this time a real one. Also there seems to be a lot of embassy movements like the one from canada against iran and the american consulate in egypt as well.
It all seems to be coming to a head now.
