so lately I have felt myself getting close to a woman that is 40 years old, or 16 years or so older than me maybe a bit more (am 24, 25 come November). It's kinda freaking me out, I feel for her, but dunno if I could deal with the age or not. I know it's but a number but....just feels strange to me with that sort of a gap.

Has anyone here dated anyone that far apart from you in age, or known anyone who has? Has it worked out?

So just imagine how you would feel bringing her around your friends - would you be embarassed, self-conscious, etc? If so, that should tell you something right there. Imagine yourself with her when she's 50, 55 (ordering off the senior menu)60....

I was married to someone 5 years younger than me. For the first couple of years it was no problem, but after a few years the maturity gap started to reveal itself...and once that happened all of a sudden I saw differences in just about every area of our lives. Needless to say, I'm not married to her anymore.
