Only a subduction Zone can create an Earthquake in the range of 8 - 9+.

California is not on a Subduction Zone.

The closest is the Cascadia Seismic Zone off the coasts of Oregon, Washington State and Vancouver Island off British Columbia Canada.

This seismic zone has the potential of creating a 9+ in that general area, but it would not cause such in southern california.

Northern Cali however would likely feel some heavy shaking, but not as bad as the northern states, and Canada which would likely get the brunt of the quake.

Cascadia ruptured with a Megathrust subduction event that is told about in Native America legends, and has been proved by the Japanese who have proof of Tsunami evidence from this quake on their eastern shores.

Cascadia ruptures, roughly once every 300 years.

It is possible, that a massive rupture within Cascadia, could domino into triggering a slip in the San Andreas which is fed by the Cascadia zone. In fact you can follow the line of the San Andreas on Google Earth and follow it right up through the northern Cali coast, into the Pacific where it runs right into the southern rift of Cascadia's subduction zone.

Its not San Andreas you Californians should be worried about.

Its Cascadia and its potential for catastrophic feedback into San Andreas.

Cascadia is reportedly one of the most dangerous subduction zones on the earth.

A 9+ in that zone, would completely destroy the whole of Seattle Washington... the entire city would be completely flattened.

104 hours is 4 days from 27th July 2012 so that makes it about 31st July give or take a day or so - so did you not see it on the news - hmmm NO - ahh must be a conspiracy and a great big cover up perhaps by the Government and the Media perhaps???
