Well your seeing it again.

I think it's Sirius, the "dog star". Notice its location relative to the constellation of Orion. Also, you'll notice this bright object you're seeing, Sirius, "rises" in the northeast sky a couple hours before dawn -- the helical rising. I was looking at it a couple nights ago, too. Very bright.

For the ancient Egyptians, this helical rising of the dog star, Sirius, the companion of Orion the hunter, signaled the annual flooding of the Nile River in lower Egypt (northern Egypt), depositing rich, black soil ajacent to the river, giving ancient Egypt its name -- KeMeT (the black land), and was the origin of the phrase, "the dog days of summer".

Today, the Nile River no longer floods due to the Aswan Dam, built with the help of the Soviet Union several decades ago.

Ancient Egyptian priests attempted to manifest the heavens on earth.

First, the 3 pyramids of the Giza Plateau were built to represent the belt stars of Orion, the hunter. Orion's belt stars consist of 2 bring stars, and 1 not so bright. On the Giza plateau, the brightness of Orion's belt stars were represented by the size of each pyramid. Thus, 2 of the pyramids are huge, and 1 not so big.

Also, 1 of the 3 belt stars of Orion is offset; it doesn't quite line up with the other two. Again, that irregularity was manifested on the Giza Plateau -- one of the pyramids doesn't quite align with the other two.

Second, Sirius was the protector and hunting companion of Orion. Where does the Sphinx sit? In front of the 3 pyramids of Giza, looking out (east). In the heavens, too, Sirius is always the companion of Orion. Look just off to the side of Orion, and the brightest star you see is Sirius, the dog star, constant companion of Orion, the hunter.

Each spring, the headwaters of the Nile (which are in the Ethiopian highlands) far to the south, receive torrential rainfall. It takes several months for the heavy spring rains there to reach northern Egypt (called "Lower Egypt", because the Nile flows south to north) where the Giza Plateau is.

Each August, the hottest part of the summer, the Nile overflowed its banks, depositing its rich, black soil along the fields that lined the Nile River. This rejuvenation ("resurrection", if you will) gave renewed life to the agriculture of ancient Egypt, and thus to the Egyptians themselves. This was the single most important event in ancient Egypt. It meant replenishment, rejuvenation, the continuation of life. Ancient Egyptians called their land KMT (they used no vowels back then). We call it KeMeT -- the black land. Not for skin color (ludicrous theory, born of the 1960s "noble savage" b.s.), but for the rich black soil deposited by the Nile River along its banks each August.

The ancient Egyptians knew when this event would happen each summer, because it would coincide with the heliacal rising of Sirius in the pre-dawn sky. Heliacal rising means that a star, in this case Sirius, would rise in the eastern sky just before dawn, and be the brightest object in the sky.

Thus, because of Sirius', the dog star's, heliacal rising during the hottest part of summer, the ancient Egyptians were able to know when to expect the annual life-renewing flood of the Nile River. Thus, the "dog days of summer".

Third, the Milky Way was represented by the Nile River, which the 3 pyramids of the Giza Plateau (3 belt stars of Orion) and the Sphinx (Sirius) overlooked.

According to Stellarium, that was Venus. The brightest object in the night sky besides the Moon.
