If these are "normal" bacteria, then why are we suddenly seeing a rash of these things hitting the news wires? Seems like a new strain. Believing in something does not make it real, ...tard. [link to www.nydailynews.com] was flesh eating disease common before these recent bouts the media is reporting? I was looking to see if there was anything else on Google news about flesh eating bacteria and thought this was interesting, perhaps this may help account for a possible increase? Did more bacteria put people at risk after the oil spill? Scientists say it's hard to say But scientists say there's no way to tell if more people were at risk of catching it By KAREN NELSON — [email protected] GULFPORT -- Vibrio vulnificus flourished after the BP oil spill, like other bacteria in the Gulf that eat oil. The difference is that Vibrio vulnificus eats people as well. It's a type of flesh-eating bacteria that lives in saltwater. It enters people through a wound or raw seafood that carries it. And it has been around the Gulf, the Mississippi Sound and in water along the shoreline of the Gulf states forever. Read more here: [link to www.sunherald.com] |

South Carolina man DIES of flesh-eating bug just hours after complaining of swollen arm!!! [link to toxnet.nlm.nih.gov] "The causes of the infection are not that unusual. You don't have to be in the jungle or exposed to animals or have any unusual exposure. It's just normal bacteria that are all around that just get into the wrong place." Group A Strep(GAS) is the most common bacteria found in all flesh eating cases. From the CDC How are group A streptococci spread? These bacteria are spread through direct contact with mucus from the nose or throat of persons who are infected or through contact with infected wounds or sores on the skin. Ill persons, such as those who have strep throat or skin infections, are most likely to spread the infection. Persons who carry the bacteria but have no symptoms are much less contagious. Treating an infected person with an antibiotic for 24 hours or longer generally eliminates their ability to spread the bacteria. However, it is important to complete the entire course of antibiotics as prescribed. It is not likely that household items like plates, cups, or toys spread these bacteria. |

Anthony Hills, 55, rushed to hospital on Saturday and died hours later Quoting: Laura Bow At least third American to die of savage necrotizing fasciitis this year and scores of others have had limbs amputated Same bacteria that struck Georgia student Aimee Copeland A South Carolina man has died just hours after being rushed to hospital with a flesh-eating disease. Anthony Hills, 55, from Charleston, passed away on Saturday having contracted necrotizing fasciitis - the same disease that savagely struck Georgia student Aimee Copeland and saw all four of her limbs amputated. Hills' family rushed the man to Medical University of South Carolina with a swollen arm after he complained of not feeling well. Doctors said the infection started in Hills' right arm and right leg and his condition deteriorated rapidly. 'It's a lightning strike kind of thing you know, where it just doesn't happen that often,' Dr Michael Kilby, chief of infectious chief of infectious disease at the hospital, told Live Five News. 'But when it does, it goes sour really fast and needs medical attention really quickly.' They amputated the affected arm and were considering removing his left leg before he died, according to the TV station. It is not known how the man contracted the disease. Makes me want to drink my olive leaf tea daily and drink colloidal silver when I feel something is not right oh, wait I do that already and have not had the flu or a cold in the last three years. For all we know he could have been bitten by a mosquito that opened him to an infection for that after swabbing with colloidal silver we place a drop of oil of olive leaf and oil of oregano it burns like crazy but the itching and swelling stops. What I am saying is that diligence and a proactive basic approach might eliminate this out of control bacterial infections without relying upon late and useless medical intervention. |

Fascia around muscle groups and arteries does not have its own blood supply, and once infection gets into such a space/plane, it can spread rapidly-00 Multiple different bacteria have been implicated. From webMD.com: [link to answers.webmd.com] Most cases of necrotizing fasciitis are caused by bacteria; only rarely do other organisms, such as fungi, cause this disease. Group A Streptococci and Staphylococci, either alone or with other bacteria, cause many cases of necrotizing fasciitis, although Clostridium spp should be considered as a cause, especially if gas is found in the infected tissue. Because of better microbial isolation techniques for anaerobic bacteria, bacterial genera such as Bacteroides, Peptostreptococcus, and Clostridium are often cultured from the infected area. Frequently, culture of tissue involved by necrotizing fasciitis also yields a mixture of other nonanaerobic bacterial genera such as E. coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, and others. Many investigators conclude that nonanaerobic organisms damage tissue areas enough to cause local areas of hypoxia (reduced oxygen) where anaerobic organisms then can thrive and extend the infection further. This results in polymicrobial infection in which one type of bacteria aids the survival and growth of another type of bacteria (synergy). Infrequently, Vibrio vulnificus causes the disease when a person, usually someone with liver function problems (for example, alcoholics or immunosuppressed patients), eats contaminated seafood or a wound gets contaminated with seawater containing Vibrio vulnificus. In his book, "Between Two Ages," Brzezinski wrote: "The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values." MuzzleBreak |

Be cautious of this when entering hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Without a doubt, my brother has been hospitalized for months and as we leave after visiting, we clean our hands with the provided alcohol gel dispenser, then go home and take a dose of colloidal silver and drink either iced or hot olive leaf tea. |

WebMD in my opinion a social media spin website is kind of simplistic and cultural based website that focuses and places blame upon smoking and drinking as the underlying cause of these infections. Thus causing or pushing the public into falsely believing that if they do not smoke or drink these necrotizing fasciitis bacterial infections will not effect them. This disregards the fact that numerous recent occurrences of necrotizing fasciitis have manifested in young or individuals without “detrimental” habits that might cause them to be predisposed to contracting the bacteria responsible. |

Getting rid of the worthless rednecks who are dependent on welfare is a good start at balancing the budget. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18372701 Perhaps you should look up the definition of Redneck and understand that the term generally refers to farmers hence the redneck reference then correctly heave the blame of useless and worthless leftists who are actually the ones dependent on welfare and social services. Then lefty read the post and answer appropriately leave your narrow-minded leftist insults and obama loving views aside Redneck Redneck is a derogatory slang term used in reference to poor, uneducated white farmers, especially from the southern United States. It is similar in meaning to cracker (especially regarding Georgia and Florida), hillbilly (especially regarding Appalachia and the Ozarks), and white trash (but without the last term's suggestions of immorality). In recent decades, the term has expanded its meaning to refer to bigoted, loutish reactionaries who are opposed to modern ways, and has often been used to attack Southern conservatives and racists.[8] At the same time, some Southern whites have reclaimed the word, using it with pride and defiance as a self-identifier. Yes, practice is good, and the arm is a good place to start. I suggest using a guillotine. It can be handy to have one of these lying around. After your arm is severed, apply rooting hormone (can be found in gardening stores) liberally, then you can simply duct tape it back on. |
