Crack appears in ground near Ft. Stockton, TX
Initially at least a mile long and 15 ft deep in places, if I remember correctly.It has grown some according to updates. Attributed to differing soil types that split due to rain...but this summer isn't the first time they've ever had rain there! No known fault lines, and nothing mentioned about fracking.

We have had sinkholes in years past, but nothing recently.


On another note, did anyone notice how successful the poster from Norway was?? He/she came, slung disrespect and strongly refuted (without supporting info) OP's thread - and managed to sidetrack the discussion for quite a while. Those of us who are interested in the info presented here should NOT give someone like Norway the courtesy of any kind of reply. Doing so only prolongs their interruption and puts a big smile on their face.
BTW - I got the impression that Norway seemed awfully professional at what he/she was doing...think it's called being a shill???
