Anyone Bag Groceries? Question...
POLL: Pot roast/8 hrs/crockpot?
 Yes
 No
 Best way
 Worst way
 Maybe
 Don't know

How do you feel about plastic versus reusable/cloth bags?

I used to call reusable bag users faggots, however since decided I actually like to use them, lead me down a long road of self hatred and sexual confusion, all of which I'm proud to say I recently (officially) overcame with the acceptance of my therapy diploma.

What was I saying?

Oh yes, the tatersalad.

Boxes are better than bags, but you can't find them in grocery stores any more.

I switched over to cloth canvas bags when the city of Seattle was considering the plastic ban about a year ago. The canvas bags are cheaper than the reusable store branded bags and do their job just as well---you could also decorate the bags as an arts and crafts project :)

Damn I misread the title

I only use reusable/cloth bags. Some reusable bags have nice cooling.

There's just no way to transport chocolate ice cream with plastic bags... KD

They invented this really awesome device in 1904...it's called the washing machine. You should check it out! [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Interesting post. I don't mind using cloth bags, but I'm not a fanatic about it.

Hours in a crockpot is fine, especially if you're short on teeth.

Ha ha, first job was a check out chick (part time in high school). Had to bag a lot of groceries then.

But yes I use re-usable bags, they tend to hold a lot more stuff then the plastic bags do.

As for the pot roast - put one in my slow cooker in the morning before going to work, and then come home to the most mouth watering smells at night. Yummy.

In my part of Cali, we are FORCED to use our own recycle bags or pay a dime a piece for paper. Applies everywhere -- grocery stores, CVS, retail, even Staples.

I don't give a shit. I had a few printed up with my own company name and catch phrase on them, so instead of advertising for Ralph's, Whole Foods, etc... I have my own company and get asked about it by cashiers.

Yeah well, I keep the things obsessively and they're always EXACTLY the same every time I go to the store... like new, sanitized, folded the same, etc.

But yes I use re-usable bags, they tend to hold a lot more stuff then the plastic bags do.

Hell yeah they do, it takes up way less space in the back of the car. I use the bags with the bottom insert... that formation helps make everything more compact.

Re: Anyone Bag Groceries? Question...
I bagged groceries when I was 15. Good times. I don't think we even had plastic bags back then, just paper.

The tatersalad needs lots of mustard and hard boiled eggs.
