Wachowskis tackle Buddhism in Cloud Atlas
Any Buddhists can confirm this? Looks like it to me.

I was expecting more from the movie, despite it is a beatiful movie. For those who are aware, the messages about karma, samsara, reincarnations and how are past actions affects our lifes in the futures (budhistes concepts) are there, very clearly.

Both those aren't Buddhism. Whole western theory on Karma is not Buddhism. Meaning, it has nothing to do with causality. Meaning, the past does not move the present. Karma simply means "doing" in Sanskrit.

Epic movie though, one I will own.

Care to explain Buddhist karma. Is it in any way similar to Tony Parsons advaitism? Or dispassionate action?

The full movie is on youtube for free. It wasn't bad but running several stories at once without really tying them well together screwed it up a bit.

There are other things you might want to consider before considering what is Karma.
Karma means your own doing. But don't attach it to the non-existent past, or the mirage which is the future. The past doesn't make the present. The present is always here and the future will still happen now.

Dispassionate action = Don't act but act

Aah. Parsons likens action to the flow of energy, a natural function of the core elements of the material. Karl Marx interestingly sees in every action the objective seeds (as opposed to effect) for the next. Like night following day or vice versa. Which ties in with the present (the field) always being here. Not that I am metaphysical but the idea of a personal cause and effect seems rather contradictory in a broader state of neutrality.

Re: Wachowskis tackle Buddhism in Cloud Atlas
Same can be said about the whole reincarnation idea. You'll find that some Buddhists, like the Zen people, don't literally believe in reincarnation. They'll tell you, if you believe you are the same person from 30 minutes ago, you've been reincarnated.

Because the past doesn't exists. The future doesn't exist. There is only an eternal now.
