Hell.

The lightning is part and parcel of living down Hea' in Louisan.

About 15 yearn ago a big zap made the curtains and blinds flex from the windows.

Next day I went out and there were 2 black spots on the grass.

The thing had forked.

I showed my wife... one for each of us.

Sinkholes? Every now and then.

Check them out all over the country while you are at it.

You DoomSuckers need to really get a life of some kind.

I don't quite feel sorry for you ultra-timid fucks.

You're just begging for it....

And one day, you really WILL get what you dream about... and you will be ill equipped for what that will actually entail.

This is to huge to be buried. Is Mother Earth getting ready to kick our a$$es for all the harm we have caused. What I find interesting is the people allegedly from the area that have come on this topic. The "locals" don't seemed to be worried and are even offensive that we are caring about the situation. I am not gloom & doom, I want to approach this realistically. This situation is huge and only we can keep it from being buried.

not quite, I am a local and I am worried, there is one arsehole on here though that states he is from the area and leaving negative comments but but but he or she dont live here anymore.... figures! ffckin rat. this is something very big brewing up and the ones that come on here and think it is nothing are shills/trolls wankers.... I am going to take a drive in a few days after the storms pass this weekend and take a look around the area.

The Mississippi is 55ft below normal levels, and almost dry in some places. Think maybe the water is disappearing because of underground levels a reducing, and not from the weather/heat?

In “The Worst-Case Scenario,” a frightening "low-probability" scenario was described on Huffington Post by DK Matai, Chairman of Asymmetric Threats Contingency Alliance (ATCA) & The Philanthropia. Matai highlighted the possibility of the "massive bubble trapped for thousands of years under the Gulf of Mexico sea floor" exploding and setting off a "tsunami [traveling] at a high speed of hundreds of miles per hour."

Quoting because this is scary as shit!

i would have to search the way back....but Matt Simmons was talking about the methane-hydrate causing major issues and that it would not be today or the next, but it would happen.

he was on the inside with the oil companies then he turned.
there were many research scientist involved looking into what was happening underground. looking beyond the oil.
and all paths were leading to the ground under the gulf states.

Mr Simmons was pushing very hard...then he turned up dead.
within a month all the scientist were gagged, either bought by BP or NOAA...all their funding and funding for their universities were on the line.

add the forced media black out pushed with Federal laws, this just disappeared.

there should be enough here to begin a good search.

well be careful. I just read the article posted a few posts behind this one that said they think there might be radioactive waste there as well.

I also found this blog that updates the situation as anything happens

DNR Office of Conservation orders immediate relief well and continuous updates from companies
Thursday, August 9, 2012

Today, the Commissioner of Conservation amended the Emergency Declaration dated August 3, issued to Texas Brine Company LLC regarding its salt cavern, requiring these immediate actions:

o Expeditiously drill a well (wow great idea!) to investigate the salt cavern and to further evaluate potential causes of the subsidence near its well site

o Obtain samples of any cavern content

o Provide daily reports on the progress of the activity

Commissioner Welsh said, “Texas Brine has been ordered to implement these steps as soon as possible and move full-steam ahead. (bad choice of words...) There will also be continual communication with the public on their actions.” Welsh said all information flowing to the department will be posted to keep the public completely informed.

Thanks for the news clip.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Why is this not pinned?

And FFS, this is the largest possible threat for real doom, and yet no one is talking about it!

This was hot yesterday, and now nothing!

I cant wait to read this thread when one or two states are blown half way to the moon, and the Mississippi allows the great lakes and the Gulf to be one large dividing line for the US.

THIS IS HUGE!

8:48 a.m. Morning Update
August 10, 2012 //
The DEQ Mobile Lab is expected back on site shortly to continue complete air analyses within the Grand Bayou and Bayou Corne communities. Their monitoring does test the air for VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).

Bubble monitoring will be conducted this morning and this afternoon, like every day. There has been no observed changes at any of the bubbling sites. The LA State Police helicopter will be arriving shortly and a flyover of the site will be conducted.

Please be advised that parish officials have learned that Texas Brine Company, LLC has called for a press conference at the Clarion Hotel in Gonzales, LA at 1:00 p.m. The Clarion is located at 1500 W Highway 30, Gonzales (where Mike Anderson’s restaurant is located).

so there's going to be a press conference today? or did they post that after the fact yesterday as it was posted last night?
