so, has anybody figured out yet why they're not going to bottle the natural gas

this chart is the "tremors" going on inside the cavern.
(the cavern is directly under the measuring instrument)
i suppose you can call them "very super small earthquakes".
but they are very super small (low energy) tremors
that are being caused by the unstable broken rock stuctures
inside the cavern (huge multi thousand ton rock structures
creaking and cracking slipping slightly) (and, note: if
you had another similar seismograph 3 miles away from the
site there would be no readings at all. that's how low
energy they are)

but all of these tremors are clear indications that the
cavern structure is very unstable and will probably collapse again.

well there are more readings that have been posted from other areas....
the cavern has fallen...the dome it self is unstable and might fall. that would not be good.

Re: HUGE Louisiana sinkhole!!!!
from another thread....

'Back in Jan. of this year, I was heavily researching the 'mystery booms' that had started popping up all over.

On one of the USGS forums I was using, a man claimed to know what was causing the booms and then went into great detail on what to look for.

His post, and the entire thread have long since been purged.

However, what he said stuck with me and from that point on I was waiting for the signs.

He claimed that the booms were the result of Super Fracking that had exposed a large underground cavern that sat against an exposed section of a subsection of the Madrid fault. That when this happened they knew they'd messed up big time. From then on the US Gov has been undergoing a 24/7 operation of keeping the cavern pressurized with fluid, to prevent the methane from travelling through the fault and destabalizing it.

He claimed that, if methane bubbles started appearing in the gulf, it would be a sign that the US efforts had failed and that the methane was now free flowing.
He said if we started to see methane bubbles and sinkholes around the gulf coast, it would signal a window of weeks before a cascade failure occurs.

When the methane forces it's way through the fault, the resulting force will rip up the entire fault complex and end up ripping the entire Mississppi River valley a new one.
He estimated at least 100 miles on either side of the Mississppi as being underwater. The new continental divide.

I asked my dad about all this shit and had him read some of the reports. He shit his pants. He is retired now but worked in the oil industry for years in Canada and the Middle East. He is well aware of how this all works. He was a specialist and an engineer and trouble shooter. He says that pretty much that area is past the point of no return. That the gases are going to travel everywhere and there is no way they can solve it. There is no tech for this type of thing. The gas will be like water and take the path of least resistance. It can move hundreds of miles along fissures and cracks underground. He said one lightening strike in the right spot could probably light the whole thing up. He wondered why they are not evacuating people out already. Alot of my family are snow birds and travel to the states every year down to Arizona and Yuma. NONE of them are going this year. NONE. They think the whole west coast, California to the Baja and now this is just a potential powder keg waiting to go up. Domino effect. Good luck to everybody and god be with you all. You are going to need god to help you all really soon. I'd be moving even if it means your starting over. Whats your life and the lives of your children worth too ya....?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21790634

Please be careful what you type. Make sure all that you say is 100% accurate. That's all...
 Quoting: Fire Watch

I trust my Dad. He is highly intelligent and knows this industry big time. He said that that earthquakes are really telling. The gas is under so much pressure looking for a way out that its probably causing the earthquakes not the fault. Earthquakes harbor alot of energy. Earthquakes also conduct energy. The earthquakes themselves because they can produce lightening could ignite it. Its a bomb waiting for the right conditions and up it will go he said. It will be felt more than 2 miles away. More like 200 miles away. God Bless.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21790634

Now theres another fire on a rig in the Gulf. Dad said that the pressure there is way to high. They should not even be drilling there that they do not have the proper technology and controls to pervent blow outs and problems. Bp admitted to altering there blow out preventer because of the pressure. Its a ticking time bomb with the pressures they are having to contend with. Dad says he is so glad he's retired and doesn't have to deal with these types of messes anymore. They are constantley pushing the fringe for more oil and gas. The area is completely unstable at those depths with all the applied pressure over and under.

Parish property assessors have been approaching residents in the area and offering steep discounts in property taxes in exchange for a decrease in property value assessment. Some real estate assessors also joined the meeting and offered their services to assess property values. Most viewed these people as predatory and some feel like the parish is trying to hurt them and their chances for a fair return on the value of their property, should some civil lawsuit arise.

do these tax assessors work for the same county as the local officials that have done virtually nothing to help these people?

the same local officials that were a no-show at the community meeting last week? and the same ones who asked the local media to ~not~ report the story?

all of these people work for the same county (or parish) and live within the same state?

hmmmm.....yeah, I'd be leary too. I wouldn't hire those guys to sit and watch paint dry because I'm fairly certain they'd flub that up too! thumbs

I'm sure the residents of Bayou Corne want this resolved asap, however I would certainly get an atty's advice before signing anything. Just as you stated above, it sounds predatory.

I'm sure they'll consult a lawyer....but it'd be really nice if a a few tax attorneys could step forward and do a little pro-bono work. These families need people they can trust. People that can ask the tough questions. People that know the law and that are not intimidated by those wishing to remain hidden behind closed doors.

They need to be represented by people that put THEIR best interests front and center, because it's abundantly clear that the govt isn't.

Re: HUGE Louisiana sinkhole!!!!
If the cavern completely collapses, or blows up, there will be no property to have value. Whether the state or parish or TX Brine reimburses the homeowners for the value of their property PRE-sinkhole will remain to be seen. But it sounds as though someone is trying to avoid that possibility by having the homeowners "settle" now. I hope they continue to wait to see what is going to happen.

Per the post about the deleted January post telling about the Super Fracking and possible Madrid fault tie-in, I sure wish there was some way to track the original post and see if that person has shared his info someplace else! Would be very interesting to know exactly where the drilling/breach into the large cavern took place that they have had to continually keep pressured. It would be very interesting to know if there are abnormal activities occurring around there as well....
