FYI: The Cajun people predate almost all other ethnic groups in the region. They were the backbone of exploration and development, as far back as the late 1600's, and, possibly even before that time.
That they some have settled into a lifestyle that you don't understand just shows your ignorance.
My own genealogy goes back to those 17th and 18th century timelines in Port Mobile, and, later, the development of New Orleans.
Losing you would be more appealing, especially when taking into consideration the importance of preserving good-hearted people.

You remind me of this guy Walker, who was a friend of my husband.
Walker was an highly educated British artist who moved to NYC at a time when rents were cheap.
Forward into the future, rent control allowed him the ability to retain a large apartment in a small building for a few hundred dollars, causing the landlord a severe financial difficulties. But, Walker, who had grown arrogant enough to develop a sense of entitlement due to his upbringing, finally became a caricature of himself.
With the perpetual help of his dearest friend of the same surname, Johnnie Walker, our Mr. Walker--who was once a very funny and clever gentleman--turned into the loudest and most difficult conversationalist I have ever met.
Unfortunately for him, or, perhaps by then it was
most fortunate, he was eventually found stiff as a petrified log in his magnificent flat, somewhat worm eaten, with his sad friend Johnnie Walker by his side, also drained of life. In his case, even maggots proved more viable than he.
His caustic drivel was never to be heard again. Fortunately for him, he had many dear friends who remembered him in better days, when his intellectual genius was still unencumbered by fluff. So, he is still rather missed.
The possibility remains that you, on the other hand, will not be.
