I mean what is nationalism really beyond using everything that doesn't represent a stereotype of ones own country? as a citizen of the planet earth, my nationalism is very low... One of the reasons why I don't watch the olympics. I probably did not get this way because I felt my country was constantly being offended. I guess if I really thought that Canada was being ridiculed unfairly I might have felt a need to stand up and defend it. But if anything, most nations including Canada get more respect than they deserve. |
