The woman symbolizes Babalon, correct?

Babalon
[link to en.wikipedia.org]
Babalon (also known as The Scarlet Woman, The Great Mother or The Mother of Abominations) is a goddess found in the mystical system of Thelema, which was established in 1904 with English author and occultist Aleister Crowley's writing of The Book of the Law. In her most abstract form, she represents the female sexual impulse and the liberated woman; although she can also be identified with Mother Earth, in her most fertile sense. At the same time, Crowley believed that Babalon had an earthly aspect in the form of a spiritual office, which could be filled by actual women—usually as a counterpart to his own identification as "To Mega Therion" (The Great Beast)—whose duty was then to help manifest the energies of the current Aeon of Horus.

Star of Babalon

This seven pointed star is the symbol chosen by Aleister Crowley to symbolize Babalon, the Thelemic Goddess who is the personification of the kabbalistic sphere of Binah. The seven points are the seven letters of the name Babalon

Symbols of the A.'.A.'. (Astrum Argentum)
[link to symboldictionary.net]
Emblems of the Esoteric Magickal order Astrum Argentum, or Silver star, an initiatory magical order formed by Aleister Crowley upon his expulsion from the Golden Dawn, and friend George Cecil Jones. When Crowley became the leader of the Ordo Templi Orientis, it became the outer order of the A.'.A.'. Included are the symbols of the A.'.A.'. and the Ordo Templi Orientis, or O.T.O. The symbols are as follows:

The Sigillum Sanctum Fraturnitatus A.'. A.'. - the Holy seal of the Brotherhood of the Silver Star:

The outer portion, the septagram, is the symbol of the outer order, and represents the ceiling of the Vault of the Adepti (5=6 grade, G.D.), and the symbol of Babalon

Black Mass
[link to en.wikipedia.org]
It was a typical Roman Catholic Mass, but modified according to certain formulas (some reminiscent of the Latin Sworn Book of Honorius, or its French version, The Grimoire of Pope Honorius) and featuring the King's mistress (the Marquise de Montespan) as the central altar of worship, lying naked upon the altar

Re: Church of Scientology is OTO Cult
Alexander Mitchell, who writes for the Sunday Times in England, claimed that Hubbard was once practicing witchcraft with John [a.k.a. Jack] Parsons, who joined the American branch of the [O.T.O.] cult of Aleister Crowley, the reknowned sorcerer and mystic.

Parsons got Hubbard to act as a high priest during a number of rituals, during which time Parsons had sexual relations with his girl friend, Betty, who was also allegedly having relations with Hubbard. Hubbard seemed unconcerned about the competition, though, since Mitchell wrote that in the "climax" of the ritual, he allegedly "worked" his two subjects into a "sexual frenzy."

In addition to these sexual unions, there seems to have been some pooling of finances on a business partnership. Parsons was believed to have invested $17,000, Hubbard about $10,000, and Parson's girl friend Betty nothing. But it was said that Hubbard used about $10,000 of this to buy a yacht, while his friend Parsons was "living at rock bottom and I mean rock bottom," according to another cult member. Aleister Crowley cabled his United States office that he "suspected" that Hubbard was playing a "confidence trick" since Parsons had given away his girl friend and his money to Hubbard.

Eventually Parsons did recover the yacht, describing how in a letter to Crowley, reprinted by the Sunday Times:

"Hubbard attempted to escape me by sailing at 5 P.M. and I performed a full invocation to Bartzabel within the circle at 8 P.M. [a curse]. At the same time, however, his ship was struck by a sudden squall off the coast which ripped off his sails and forced him back to port where I took the boat in custody."

James Franco and Brian Butler to perform Aleister Crowley ritual in Los Angeles art gallery
[link to dangerousminds.net] 12/3/2012
Occult artist / musician / filmmaker Brian Butler will be performing Aleister Crowley’s Bartzabel Working” tomorrow night, Tuesday, December 4, at the L&M Arts gallery space in Venice Beach, CA. This occult ceremony is part of the gallery’s current “Martian Chronicles” theme exhibit and will employ custom robes made in the original A.'.A.'. (Crowley’s magical order) designs and a circle, altar and triangle fabricated in vivid colors. Actor James Franco and Noot Seear from Twilight: New Moon will also participate in the ritual:

"In conjunction with the current exhibition For the Martian Chronicles, L&M Arts is pleased to present The Bartzabel Working, a performance by filmmaker and artist Brian Butler. Based on a ceremonial evocation of the spirit of Mars, first written and performed in London in 1910 by the famed British occultist Aleister Crowley, the ritual later became part of Los Angeles history in 1946 when Jet Propulsion Laboratory rocket scientist and Crowley protégé Jack Parsons conducted his own version of this rite, with the intention of placing a martial curse on a pre-Scientology L. Ron Hubbard."

Re: Church of Scientology is OTO Cult
Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) (Order of the Temple of the East, or the Order of Oriental Templars) is an international fraternal and religious organization founded at the beginning of the 20th century. English author and occultist Aleister Crowley has become the most well-known member of the order.

Originally it was intended to be modelled after and associated with Freemasonry,[1] but under the leadership of Aleister Crowley, O.T.O. was reorganized around the Law of Thelema as its central religious principle. This Law—expressed as “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law"[2] and "Love is the law, love under will”[3]—was promulgated in 1904 with the writing of The Book of the Law.

Similar to many secret societies, O.T.O. membership is based on an initiatory system with a series of degree ceremonies that use ritual drama to establish fraternal bonds and impart spiritual and philosophical teachings.

O.T.O. also includes the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (EGC) or Gnostic Catholic Church, which is the ecclesiastical arm of the Order. Its central rite, which is public, is called Liber XV, or the Gnostic Mass.

Sara Elizabeth Bruce Northrup Hollister (April 8, 1924 – December 19, 1997[1]) was the second wife of L. Ron Hubbard, from 1946 to 1951, and wife of Miles Hollister from 1951 to her death in 1997.[2] She had one daughter, Alexis Valerie, fathered by Hubbard in 1948.

Sara Northrup was a major figure in the Pasadena branch of the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), a society founded by the English occultist Aleister Crowley. From 1941 to 1945 she had a turbulent relationship with John [a.k.a. Jack] Whiteside Parsons, the head of the Pasadena OTO, who was married to her sister Helen. Although she was a committed member of the OTO, to whom she was known as "Soror [Sister] Cassap", she acquired a reputation for disruptiveness that prompted Crowley to denounce her as a "vampire".

She began a relationship with L. Ron Hubbard, whom she met through the OTO, in 1945. It led to the couple eloping with a substantial amount of Jack Parsons' life savings

In January 1946, Parsons, Sarah Northrup, and Hubbard began a boat dealing company named Allied Enterprises. Parsons put in the sum of approximately $21,000 of which Hubbard contributed $1,200. Just as Crowley had predicted, Hubbard eventually abandoned Parsons and their business plans, leaving for a port in Florida with the boat and with Sarah. Parsons retreated to his hotel room and attempted to summon a typhoon in retribution (viz., with an evocation of Bartzabel—an intelligence presiding over the astrological forces associated with the planet Mars). A squall developed at sea and ripped the sails from the boat, forcing the ship back to port

Thread: Scientology roots in OTO, Jack Parsons, and Aleister Crowley
Jack Parsons was a student of Aleister Crowley and high ranking member of the OTO. Parsons, also a genius/prodigy, was also the father of the modern space program. Modern rocket and jet engines were developed by him at JPL in California. JPL for Jack Parsons Lab, changed by Nasa to Jet Propulsion Lab.

L Ron Hubbard was also an OTO member, and met up with Parsons. L Ron acted as the scribe during Parsons' Babalon Working, where he invoked the Scarlet Woman, Holy Whore of Babalon, known as the 'Babalon Working'.

Soon after L Ron took off to Florida with many of Parsons and the OTO grade papers, and some say Parsons wife. He then began recasting OTO and Crowley's work into what is now Scientology by inventing a new mythos and symbolism. These new symbols however masked the same underlying principles of OTO, in which are kernels of fundamental truth about the universe. This is why Scientology continues to grow. However at its essence is derivative of OTO and 'do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law'. These principles are firmly at the core of Scientology behind the many veils L Ron created. Soon after L Ron took off, Parsons died in an explosion in his garage lab, where some speculate he was working on rocket fuel and others say it was an alchemy experiment that went wrong.

Re: Church of Scientology is OTO Cult
Hubbard was clearly involved in the occult. In 1945, L. Ron Hubbard met Jack Parsons, who was a renowned scientist, protégé of occultist Aleister Crowley, and a member of the notorious Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), an international organization founded by Crowley to practice sexual black magic.

Parsons had Hubbard move onto the property of Parsons' Pasadena, California, home. It was there that Hubbard began to practice the occult and sexual magic. Parsons' mistress, Sara Northrup, left him for Hubbard and later became Hubbard's second wife, even before Hubbard had divorced his first wife (The Los Angeles Times, June 24, 1990, p. A37). [...]

As with other areas of Hubbard's life, Scientologists have attempted to revise the understanding of these events. While they admit that Parsons was a leader of a black magic group, that a girl was used in a sex ritual, and that Hubbard moved in, Scientology claims that Hubbard was working underground for Naval Intelligence. Scientology claims that Hubbard rescued the girl and he was able to "break up black magic in America" (Jon Atack, A Piece of Blue Sky, pp. 89-90).
 Quoting: [link to www.watchman.org]

"Greg Bishop's "Best of L.A." characterization, in his piece on Jack Parsons, of L. Ron Hubbard as a tool of Aleister Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientalis is utterly false.

Mr. Hubbard was sent in by U.S. Intelligence to disband Parsons' black-magic group.

Those associated with the OTO had become a serious security threat to the nation's atomic-research program, with suspected Nazi sympathizers among them and scientists from Caltech and Los Alamos (Manhattan Project) suspected of engaging in rituals involving sex and drugs. Clearly a security nightmare.

Mr. Hubbard succeeded in his assignment. In 1946, Parsons' lodge of the OTO dispersed. Parsons lost his government security clearance in 1948, and other scientists involved in his group were among the 64 stripped of their security clearances after the war.

It really is time for the L.A. Weekly to reassess its perspective and policy regarding such attempts to denigrate Scientology, the religion of tens of thousands of people in your readership area."

Scientology: New Light on Crowley
[link to www.xenu-directory.net]
Date: Sunday, 28 December 1969
Publisher: The Times (UK)
Main source: [link to www.xenu-directory.net]

ON 5 OCTOBER, 1969, Spectrum published an article "The
odd beginning of Ron Hubbard's Career". The Church of Scientology has sent us the following information:

"Hubbard broke up black magic in America: Dr Jack Parsons of Pasadena, California, was America's Number One solid fuel rocket expert. He was involved with the infamous English black magician Aleister Crowley who called himself "The Beast 666." Crowley ran an organisation called the Order of Templars Orientalis over the world which had savage and bestial rites. Dr Parsons was head of the American branch located at 100 Orange Grove Avenue, Pasadena, California. This was a huge house which had paying guests who were the USA nuclear physicists working at Cal. Tech. Certain agencies objected to nuclear physicists being housed under the same roof.

L. Ron Hubbard was still an officer of the US Navy because he was well known as a writer and a philosopher and had friends amongst the physicists, he was sent in to handle the situation, he went to live at the house and investigated the black magic rites and the general situation and found them very bad.

Parsons wrote to Crowley in England about Hubbard. Crowley "The Beast 666" evidently detected an enemy and warned Parsons. This is all proven by the correspondence unearthed by the Sunday Times. Hubbard's mission was successful far beyond any one's expectations. The house was torn down. Hubbard rescued a girl they were using. The black magic group was dispersed and destroyed and has never recovered."

Yes, they were founded by Scientologists who went independent. Here is a good article by Gary Lachman on the Process Church:

Manson and the O.T.O.?
[link to osdir.com]
Before Charles Manson (b. 1935) visited the 'parties' open to outsiders held at Solar Lodge meetings, he had had a rather checkered occult history. He is supposed to have first become interested in Scientology while he was incarcerated at the McNeil Island Penitentiary in Washington (Scientology has prison recruiting programmes). There it is said that Manson received about 150 hours of Scientology counseling. After his release from prison, he went to Los Angles, where it is claimed that he attended several Scientology events where Hollywood stars were guests, including possibly the dedication ceremony for Scientology's first 'Celebrity Center'. Manson was undoubtedly eager to meet celebrities to further his musical ambitions and find someone to produce his guitar-playing; it is known that he contacted one of the Beach Boys, and Doris Day's son.

There are hints that not long after this he became involved with the Solar Lodge, and may also have had links with 'The Process', a Satanist-oriented group which had originally broken away from Scientology; Scientology itself had early connections with Crowley's O.T.O., in the form of L. Ron Hubbard's association with Jack Parsons.
