But I think in large part, what bugs me the most about it was having fallen for it when I was a child... despite having had direct experiences with God during NDEs.

I should think that would be obvious... because I no longer believed in jesus. And if I was wrong and didn't believe, he would torture me forever for daring not to believe.

Basic tenet of christianity, man.

We all have doubts from time to time, I just ask that that the Lord help me find what I need to persevere in my faith. As long as you're talking/praying to Jesus I would not be worried.

After all, If you're talking to Jesus then you obviously have belief / faith
