The idea of linking mind and movement and allowing whatever you think of as your creator to flow through you is very relaxing. If you're considering it as a martial art think again. You'd have to study for some years to be able to translate the movement to real action although as a compliment to a normal study of Kung Fu you'd be pretty confident against Joe typical asshole. |

It has to do with cultivating the energy that is in everything all around us all the time. Pretty awesome stuff I would suggest looking into it. Chi = Life Energy. Chi Gong is focuesed on balancing your energy as well as healing. Look up some youtube videos and remember that it is not just going through the motions and doing the actions, you must focus your mind and meditate while doing the chi exercises and really feel the energy moving where you want it to. Awesome Stuff! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21377077 United States 08/10/2012 03:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | talk about strange timing but wow, i just received a book on the fighting application of tai chi and also downloaded some iphone apps on it. tai chi can mean grand ultimate or great achievement or grand energy/life force. basically there are some philosophies and rules and motos to go by. things like no ego, respect family superiors and neighbors, do good deeds, help others, healthy body mind and spirit, work the body out because if you dont use it it will rust like a door hinge that has not been used in years. it has a lot of radial movements mostly, and the weapon that is used by the art is called the tai chi sword. i have a lot of info on it but i recommend you google it. it does really help you get connected to your body and energy and strength does improve. my mom was the first one i knew who did it and she was able to do things she never thought she could do. she realized the difference instantly. other friends said the same as well. right on for the post and what timing... maybe its a sign... the book that was given to me yesterday for helping my frined with this new house/farm he got, was called kung fu combat tai chi chuan... also the art has a lot of ties to taoism, i ching, yin yang, etc. |
