The wages will go down, people will be forced to take less and less pay just to be able to have a job. Pretty soon you will be working for free. And that piece of paper ain't gonna meana thing. I don't believe anything the tv tells me, if they say the economy is getting better, it is not. It is all designed to go down. People will sell their souls just to be able to eat. I have no faith in the economy. Hell, Ben Bernanke even said he does not see the economy turning around for the NEXT 5 YRS! that's 2017 for you and me! Get used to it. |

I know I'm worth more and bring better to the table, but the jobs AREN'T THERE...6 years of looking has told me this... You are either gonna work for the gov't (military, overseas contractor, TSA or alphabet agency), in medical as a billing specialist or receptionist or in a nursing home, or doing grunt work like a garbage man, clothes sales associate or even a grocery store bagger. What's a 30+ year old with a full education pedigree look like doing this...? sometime we don't have a choice And then there's the matter of being able to relocate where the jobs are. So many people feel they can't do that. |

I went to college for half a year, realized it was a waste of fucking time and dropped out. I make $17 an hour right now not in the field I was studying for. $17 an hour? How do you live like that? I am a Multi-Millionaire twice over, plus 2 Army Retirements. We live on about $1,500 a month which would equate to $9.30hr "If we worked" I bring in about $14k every month with my investments, but I spend only a 1/10th of it |

Besides you dont need a college degree to make it. One good friend of mine owns a business, worked it up from the bottom and is now a multi millionaire at 50. Since he had a business when he was 16 I dont even know if he graduated high school. May have gotten a GED. I went the degree route, but quite a few years ago like graduated in the mid 80s. 1st job 1st year 20k, 2nd year 25k 3rd year 38k, Self employed 4 year 60k, 5th year 100k. That's about 200k in today's money. Wish I was making that now but the economy sucks for most everybody except Obama. It will get better, hopefully. |

I am now a Chief Information Officer and have been for the Last 14 years. Before that I was a VP of IT for the previous 6 years. I have hired and Fired Master Degrees in Technology and MBAs. A Degree Doesn't mean squat to me. Many who think they have arrived after School haven't a clue of what it takes to make it. I really question what is being taught in school. Some of the most ignorant people I have ever met have acquired a degree and that is a true mystery why any institution of higher learning would ever pass some of these students. It is also highly dangerous and there are only a dozen or so underwater welders in the whole USA. Not exactly a job where they will hire you on the spot. Most are independent contractors who have their own businesses. That's not true, actually. I went to The Ocean Corporation (Commercial Diving/NDT/Underwater Welding) many many moons ago & we had 7+ classes of 20+ students each running simultaneously at any given time. Companies like Oceaneering would come in at graduation day & hire virtually the entire graduating class. I am a Christian.
