If you didnt spend one dime of the $95,000 and applied it all to pay off your student loan you are negative -$5,000 dollars for the year. Now here i come never went to school. I work at mcdonalds. Dont make much but have no debt. And im able after all my bills like rent and gas and car and food, to save $1 dollar every month. When the end of the year comes i have saved $12 dollars. Who is richer me or you? try to find a better job. If not deal with it until you can. If you have debt. Your screwed as itll take you a long time to get out of the hive. If ever. I worked really hard for that 3.5 gpa..considering that I was taking 18-22 credit hours a semester while raising a family. I had little time for myself. I stayed in those books and only made time for the family..thankfully the children were young. I didn't go to Harvard or Yale but it was up there. So I am proud of that 3.5 but all the name dropping and brown nosing in the world is not worth it...sucks that my degree sits in a glass document holder in my living room. Which path is it going to be? But if I start this business with my idea and need to hire people because I can't do it all by myself - but then everyone else is off producing and doing their own thing - who will work for me? You need to modify your idea, and simplify, not thinking so 'large' first. Start small. Then when you have the capital to hire people, do, but never overextend yourself. Baby step. Walk. Then run. It might take years. Beats working dead end shitty jobs for 20 years and never getting anywhere, by dedicating yourself to a 1 year goal, then a 5 year, and then 10, etc. Its the only tried and true method, and takes hard work, discipline, and spit you have been collecting in your cheek for months. Just do it instead of talking yourself out of it. If you do a little here and there, it adds up. Figure it out. No no no. I mean, if everyone follows your advice, I won't be able to find employees to work for me (for when I do get large enough to hire) - they'll all be working for themselves. |

Student loan debt, at reasonable levels, is good (low interest rates, paid off if you work in the public sector, tax write offs, etc.). We get lied to from the moment we can speak and we are continually lied to from all parts of society. It really does suck. You can't trust anyone or any organization. You have to question everything and check out everything that is told to you. It's exhausting and frustrating. I wish I had some great advice to offer but, I don't, I still do not understand how things work after many years of scratching and surviving. That's my two cents. Do not give up just yet, maybe your resume is off base, are you applying in a city with hundreds of applications going to same company? North Dakota has jobs check out jobsnd.com you have to move where the jobs are, I tried to find work in Indiana for one year temp jobs left and right finally rolled out of there to North Dakota. North Dakota has a 2 billion dollar surplus due to the oil boom. Only state that has companies coming here due to cheap for businesses to setup. You have to network to get a job, most of the time its who you know, not what you know. Just do not give up! |
