op, I started reading your other thread. So what is going to happen in Saint Louis? I lived in Columbia for awhile. Did some great caving, hiking, time at Lake of the Ozarks.....
I enjoyed my time in Missouri a lot.

When Christians hear Mormons refer to the Garden of Eden they may incorrectly assume that the LDS believe it was by the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Joseph Smith, however, claimed by revelation that the Garden of Eden was in western Missouri. This would throw off the entire first part of Genesis. Noah would have left in the ark from Missouri and sailed to some location in the Middle East. LDS Apostle John A. Widtsoe explained:

"Latter-day Saints know, through modern revelation, that the Garden of Eden was on the North American continent and that Adam and Eve began their conquest of the earth in the upper part of what is now the state of Missouri. It seems very probable that the children of our first earthly parents moved down along the fertile, pleasant lands of the Mississippi valley." (John A. Widtsoe, Evidences and Reconciliations, three volumes in one, Salt Lake City: Bookcraft 1960, p. 127)

Also , have you ever thought about the similarities between the Nile & the Mississippi or any of the other famous rivers in Egypt ? As I mentioned before , souther Illinois has been referred to as Little Egypt for over 100 years , maybe longer! MO & IL both have many big rivers & their are many cities in IL named after cities in Egypt , not only that but all of the cities seem to be exactly the same distances away from each other in both countries ! They are also mirror images of each other with the rivers that run through certain cities. Someone on this thread , I believe it was Peanut or Alisiah brought up the similarities between the Middle East and the Mid-dle West, it's interesting to think about that's for sure
