Tell me what it is before I click it. Slow connection here (USB dongle). So before I (possibly) waste my time in loading it, I would appreciate some indication as to what it is.

Yeah, it's early morning here. That's about the only time I get a reasonably fast connection...when everybody else is asleep, I think, and the network's not too busy.

im sure full colour global sat is good

but i already download

photos of the earth larger than 1 gigabyte in size

of areas roughly 100km * 100km i wish to view

it takes a bit of expertise to open them and they do take

time to load which makes it even more difficult

knowing whether your viewer is working,,

i started doing this to look at contour levels of the

ground etc etc for wind turbines locations

Many people see the miracle that is the Earth as one big dollar sign.

Incorporating it into Google Earth would be easier. I don't really like adding lots of new stuff.

There is an app that i purchased a long time ago called "living earth"

does this and all the temp, cloud layers, wind speed, etc.
not real time but updated frequently all day.
you can zoom and rotate.
fun times.
