Re: HUGE Louisiana sinkhole! PART 2
I saw this. This video is spot on!

People must understand this it is LIQUID not GAS.

First, a gyser of flame will shoot up.
Next, over a period of time as the liquid turn gaseous and fuels the gyser, air will fill what the liquid used to. This is where and how O2 gets in the dome. And yes, air will fill and fill and fill right up to the point at which a perfect mixture will ignite below and BOOOM goes the dynamite!

Now heres the REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY bad part.

There are thousands of these wells quite close to each other.

With contents that should not be combusted or let out!

Here is another one.

You have to understand, this also is just a drop in the bucket compared to what is in those domes!!!!

The volume of Liquid explosive in those domes is almost unimaginable(spelling?)

//snip youtube link //
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1585188

A couple of items to note before I begin:

1) Who owns the radioactive material in the dome?

2) Why are other dome operators, owners, or companies whom have material stored in nearby domes NOT being named and identified?

3) Why was the Texas Brine "worst case" report accepted when it did nothing more than say "it" could not happen?

4) Why are other companies not being required to provide worst case reports?

5) Why are officials outright refusing to provide information naming the other companies with domes and/or what materials are in them?

Link to my prior post in thread:
"HUGE Louisiana sinkhole Now Radioactive and moving towards Butane Cavern!!! PART 2"

Thread: HUGE Louisiana sinkhole! PART 2 (Page 13)

Good, you found the "scary" one from Murdoch, Illinois... A single railcar going BLEVE, and then another with iso-butane in it did later BLEVE later in the evening...
My quick copy and paste broke many of the links, but that is one video I definitely wanted included in my post.
Thank you for locating & correcting it.

Here it is again in the event anyone missed it in the prior posting:
Test to try to embed it, but not familiar with this forum software:

***That particular BLEVE blew the LFG rail car 3/4 of a mile from where it was burning, and LFG tank cars are *MUCH* heavier than regular rail cars.***

And that was only at most maybe 30,000 gals of propane, and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) scares the !@#$ out of me (almost) when compared to propane, butane, or similar LFG materials.
That is why there is such heated and protracted debated about where to put LNG (cooled to -270°F to liquify it), and when it gets out, a BLEVE with LNG would far exceed anything anyone might have seen in any of the other BLEVE videos, including the 1 at the rocket fuel plant in Nevada.

FLASHBACK from another incident involving a Salt Mine about 50-miles due west of the current incident (was not a Dome storing anything, but an actual working Salt Mine in the same area, and a little incident that happened when an engineer made a very slight mathematical error.

MANY from the area don't even know about this nor remember it.

Wikipedia:
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Lake Peigneur sinkhole disaster on November 20, 1980

Video from a police car of a BLEVE on Oct. 15, 2005 in TexArkana, AR, love his honest reaction that he broadcast on the radio at 1m 53s:

"Get your ass outta my way, we gettin the hell up outta here"...

Full video (WATCH & LISTEN CLOSE BEGINNING AT 1m 30s):

As far as H2S goes, it is in ALL natural gas and crude, and DEADLY poisonous. I've know multiple people that have died from H2S. Takes a VERY short time to do it's thing also... I used to be one whom they'd call in to "finish" a job after H2s put people down, either in the hospital or grave.

And for those of you debating H2S & S02, when H2S & S02 mix and react together, they form H2S04, Sulfuric acid ala' acid rain...

The PEPCON Disaster in Henderson, Nevada in 1998 involving ammonium perchlorate was not a LFG nor petroleum related BLEVE, but would give uninformed people an idea of how massive some of these industrial incidents can be.

Regarding the 4-BILLION cubic feet of Natural Gas stored in just 2 domes nearby the Texas Brine Dome (not even considering the CrossTex dome, nor any of the MANY other domes concentrated in the area and what is in them), ever heard of the "Piper Alpha Disaster" that happened in the North Sea?
Good documentary on it, ~45-mins long when/if you get time to watch it:
Killed 167 people: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

I'm wondering how tropical storm Issac will affect this situation, and if it does turn into a hurricane it would be worse. Seems like a lot of rain would destabilize the area even more.

update for the 23rd:

"At the Police Jury meeting last night, the Jury unanimously adopted a resolution requesting DNR to perform a study on the aquifer and simultaneous venting of the aquifer as the exploratory rig is being drilled. They also adopted a resolution to request DOTD to perform a study of a bypass route of LA-70. Please note that this does NOT mean the closure of LA-70, it is an addition of alternate route, more efficient and convenient than the current detour route (through Bayou Pigeon or Bayou L’Ourse). The Jury will formally request the State Legislature for the appropriation of funds for these projects to be completed."

uhh...

wait, so they want to drill for a "relief well" for the butane and at the exact same time drill to "vent" the aquifer?

wtf does this even mean? they are trying to move the water AND the butane....in 2 places at once. i am so confused about what this is but it sounds insane to me.

Groundwater remediation is the process that is used to remove pollution from groundwater. Groundwater is water present below the ground surface that saturates the pore space in the subsurface. At least one half of the population of the United States depends upon groundwater as a source of drinking water.[1] Groundwater is also used by farmers to irrigate crops and by industries to produce everyday goods. Most groundwater is clean, but groundwater can become polluted, or contaminated as a result of human activities or as a result of natural conditions. The many and diverse activities of man produce innumerable waste materials and by-products; before the 1980s, the regulation of these wastes was less stringent and waste materials were often disposed of or stored on land surfaces where they percolated into the underlying soil and eventually were carried downward, contaminating the underlying groundwater and therefore jeopardizing the natural quality of it. As a result, contaminated groundwater became unsuitable for use. Current practices can still impact groundwater, such as the over application of fertilizer or pesticides, spills from industrial operations, infiltration from urban runoff, and leaking from landfills. Using contaminated ground water causes hazards to public health through poisoning or the spread of disease, and the practice of groundwater remediation has been developed to address these issues. Contaminants found in ground water cover a broad range of physical, inorganic chemical, organic chemical, bacteriological, and radioactive parameters. Pollutants and contaminants can be removed from ground water by applying various techniques thereby making it safe for use.

now we will not have anymore fly overs until the new fuel tank arrives...should be 3 to 4 months for delivery of said tank....upon delivery and inspection...the 3 week installation process shall commence...baring any further issue with the helicopter...all work should be finish by end of this year.
we will now hold daily briefings on the progress of this repair and only the repair.
