yeah and it shocks me to see that woman just sunbathing in the middle of all those dead fish. amazing her child has lived so long.

I did not notice if it stated that the sinkhole is still 1500ft from the butane cavern or if it is now closer. Did I miss it or does it not say? (way too tired to function today)

9:20 a.m. Morning Update
August 13, 2012 //There have been no significant changes – clean up still continues and Texas Brine continues to prepare for the arrival of the rig (which should be on Thursday). We’ve received several calls regarding the diesel odor… DEQ is on site in their mobile lab, running air samples within the community periodically each day and results are consistently normal – no danger detected. We’ve noted that the smell is stronger in the morning and we believe this to be because of the dense morning air. Workers at the sinkhole site are required to wear respirators because they are there for long periods of time. OEP Director John Boudreaux is taking off any minute in the State Police helicopter so I should have pictures and maybe a short video pretty soon. The bubbles are still being monitored twice a day and no changes have been noted.

Boudreaux said the pipeline bent 16 feet downward and 15 feet to the east toward the slurry-filled sinkhole that developed overnight Thursday in the swamps near Bayou Corne.

He said the pipeline was not leaking, but presented an explosion risk if it would rupture.

Boudreaux said the compromised section of pipeline stretches for about 400 feet about a half-mile south of La. 70.

Boudreaux also said authorities believe the pipeline was damaged in connection with the formation of the sinkhole.

They're talking about a 36 inch pipeline. What kind of force would be required to bend a 36 inch pipeline 16 ft. downward?

Excluding secondary oil and gas pipeline and refinery explosions, direct effects of such a single bomb blast in Bayou Corne, fifty miles from Baton Rouge, would include Donaldsonville, Louisiana, according to NUKEMAP simulations showing an H-bomb this size would produce:

"Fire-ball radius: (central orange circle): 0.62 km / 0.39 mi. Maximum size of the nuclear fireball; relevance to lived effects depends on height of detonation.

"Air blast radius: 3.8 km / 2.1 mi (red shaded circle) 20 psi overpressure; heavily built concrete buildings are severely damaged or demolished; fatalities approach 100%
