with some added METHANE GAS for good measures?

The 5 12 bulkhead test is a partially completed experiment conducted by IMC and PCS. The
arrangement of the test was to have involved three bulkheads as shown in Figure 3, but only
two were placed. The test was to demonstrate that the DRZ surrounding mined rooms could
be sealed using a combination of two concrete dams and an over-pressurized interval between
them. The idea is that if a head of brine is downstream from the first concrete dam and a fluid
(less dense than the brine; say, diesel) is pressurized above the brine. it will prevent flow along the DZR.

On page 62, there may be more refferances aswell.

As soon as he said that the first thing I thought was the sinkhole! I love this guy, makes too much sense and it's not as complicated as people make it out to be.

Texas Brine officials said in a news release Friday that approximately 100 feet of caprock remains before the drilling bit reaches the salt dome. The company’s cavern in the salt dome starts at 3,400 feet underground.

That was a bit faster tan they expected. Didn't they originally say about 40 days? I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear what comes of this.

It has been brought to our attention that some people are speculating about alarms going off in the Bayou Corne area.

That does not make any sense what so ever. People are obviously hearing something.

And people were told to go home and inspect for cracks in the ground, sinking, foul odors, etc. and report if anything found or heard!

What could people be hearing? Is the power still out there? If so, I wouldn't think it would be a smoke detector or something of that matter. Maybe work trucks backing up? I wonder if people are hearing something or if it's a hoax..

Either way I find it funny that there is a potential disaster going on and nobody is there... even if it's a holiday weekend,

Maybe it's a don't bother us till we are open type thing.

Louisiana sinkhole area residents reported to Assumption Parish officials hearing alarms over the weekend, but were told by officials that alarms are not going off. The alarm reports coincide with a spike in seismic activity, according to The University of Memphis Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI), and also might coincide with resumed drilling into the sinkhole area after Tropical Storm Isaac left it.

These thermal contouring levels were selected to begin at temperatures that are above the ambient levels found within the field of view, increasing in five degree increments to the maximum of 60°C. The thermal contrast is greatest where the surface materials are significantly different. The highest contour level (60°C) consists of a very small percentage of the scene and appears to be associated directly to some type of operating mechanical equipment. Those levels over 55°C are still a low percentage and occur where some activity at an operating facility is contributing thermal energy to the nearby surrounding materials. The contour levels over 45°C (blue and green) are consistent with surface materials that differ significantly from naturally occurring materials, such as manmade equipment, structures or construction materials. The sinkhole area has a thermal profile that indicates either man made materials, such as a petroleum product at the surface, or some externally heated naturally occurring material, such as upwelling deep subsurface brine. The booms present in the sink hole area appear to be performing their intended role of separating materials at the surface. Upwelling hot brine would quickly transfer heat to all fluids in the sinkhole regardless of their separation by surface booms.

Yes I spotted that, on the report it says that is down to "Those levels over 55°C are still a low percentage and occur where some activity at an operating facility is contributing thermal energy to the nearby surrounding materials." I'm not to sure though, and I do not really know how these type of sites work.

According to the update we were provided on yesterday, Texas Brine is a bit ahead of schedule as the cement cure time is set for 10:00 p.m. and drilling operations will resume.
