so you have never had anyone pray for you?????
That is not what the Rosary, at it's core, is though. Look at it like this. While I am praying i never stop and say Dear holy friend who lives down the street please talk to GOD for me and let him know I need his help. Get it now?
In my opinion it is all about how you view the Rosary, Mary, and prayer. All I am saying is that prayer is more than just "let me recite some words and it will magically change my life." It is not about words. These things are human constructs that our minds have developed. The act of prayer is you Joining in the struggle or burden or joy of the person you are praying for and or with.
My comfort is in the fact that knowing I share in the same spirit as mary, and paul, and peter, not in the fact that through these people I have another person to pray to, Does that make sense?
I am not condemning people that pray the Rosary. I just feel that the people that believe in a human being and considering her the HOLY MOTHER OF GOD is a bit much.
Just for some clarification, When you (not necessarily directed at the person I quoted but anyone who prays the Rosary) pray the rosary do you always end with this prayer?
"HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!"
Because this is a prayer TO mary not WITH mary. you are not joining in prayer with her you are placing her between you and Jesus. Just read the words.
Just check your own spirit and make sure that when and if you pray the rosary you are not praying to mary but you are praying to Jesus. That's all. I will never pray it though, no need.
