The Olympics is a way too obvious target in the internet age. The conspiracy theory circulated for years and millions of people were aware of it. If and when they'll attack, they'll of course do it when it's unexpected, just like 9/11. They saw the millions marching around the world against the Iraq war, it would've been much worse this time if an attack happened and they tried to pin it on Iran. They're afraid of the internet.

Just imagine all those Youtube videos predicting Olympic doom.....and all the "research" gone to waste.

If they had been planning to do something at the Olympics for years and spent all that money to set it up with missiles, security personnel, etc., they wouldn't call it off just because a bunch of idiots on an internet forum (which only people who are awake read) point it out.

No the effect is that if something is discovered and talked about enough before it happens, It wont happen and even if it is planned for real to happen, it wont be able to happen if enough people hear about it because we will all be on super high alert

The logic is very simple:

1 - shoot a random date and/or event;
2 - post about it at some conspiracy community;
3 - if after the date/event nothing happens:
3.1 - go back to step 1, optionally changing nick(s);
4 - if after the date/event something happens (by luck):
3.2 - profit from fame, selling videos, books, ads on websites, etc.
