I know two families over the years who have had a child on an olympic team, and they received almost nothing except in the very last year

families and athletes work their asses off, get up at 4 in the morning to train, to drive to training, to drive days away for coashing, they spend every dime, and they manage to do it with almost no federal support

most of the funding comes from the family and sometimes local organizations

there are athletes of every color and background at this latest olympics, and many of them are deep in debt in order to get their chance at the gold

why can't you be happy for them?
