I put myself through college no problem and i took 23 credit hours while working a night job. There are those who get it done and those who have an excuse for everything. My filks never gave me a damn penny. Now I make $800 a day with full benefits and quarterly bonuses plus other perks. I pity no one. Everyone's life is a result of the choices they make. You either have the aptitude and gumption or you do not. Not everyone can be a winner. |

They just havn't got around to you yet. I hope I'm there to see the day you train your new $30 a day Indonesian replacement. |

The skill base is too specific. Besides that, i would welcome it. All i need is an excuse to go off grid. Which i'm already set up for. I tackle any challenge. |

Get somebody from Mexico to do it? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21788292 Well now even a lot of positions for mechanics require you to at least be certified as a mechanic. Guess what? When you sign up for those classes here at our local college, you still have to take all the other courses for a 2 year associates. And a job as a "gardener"... yup, you guessed it. A degree in agriculture science. ![]() ![]() |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 21692540 08/13/2012 05:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Had a good job right out of HS back in the 80s. Most likely today a college degree will not help, only saddle the youth with $100k debt. Depends on what field one looks to enter. There are still some jobs requiring a degree. Duh. Oil, gas and electric are still wide open fields that will not be exported. Pay is good and requires basic education. |

I live simple and cheap. Should I lose my job I could survive several years on my built up savings, perhaps as many as 10 assuming no health issues. I'm happy with my job which I don't have to take home with me, could work lots of overtime but don't.... extra time for spiritual pursuits, exercise, and leisure. Some people like to be dynamic and have things going on around the clock though. More power to them. Last Edited by Cult of Personality on 08/13/2012 05:39 AM |

It's been inflated. What all that schooling does, is to limit your creativity. Creativity, is the new "degree", and that cannot be thought. Get a hobby, study without school. Get some experience. |
