SO Mr. tard, what's the catch with your stupid thing you've just write here with the double full moon this month? :pope face palm: no connection whatsoever, dummy. Just thinking that if you don't know the moon's cycle is 28 days, then you may be surprised when sometimes february has 29 days. It's ok, brother. Life is a school. Peace. |

But lets take it s-l-o-w and in stages for your benefit. ♦ About 29½ days from one full Moon to the next. ♦ So a Full Moon can fall either 29 days or 30 days after the previous one, depending what time of day it occurs ♦ Calendar months can have 28, 29, 30 or 31 days ♦ Most calendar months are 30 days or 31 days ♦ Because lunar month is shorter than most calendar months, the DATE of full Moon will gradually work it's way forward from one month to the next. ♦ Sooner or later, Full Moon will fall in the first few days of calendar month ♦ When Full Moon occurs on 1st or 2nd, the next can occur on 30th or 31st - it's simple maths VERY simple maths - you don't get much simpler than addition. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11511435 Two full moons in the same month is called.. .. a Blue Moon. Hence the expression "Once in a Blue Moon" And now you know... the REST of the story :p That took long enough. “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. ... We need not wait to see what others do.” -Mahatma Ghandi |

Australian Cowardess User ID: 21050205 Australia 08/13/2012 09:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Also, astrologically speaking, a full moon = culmination. First one this month August 2 was in Aquarius (technology, ideas, innovation). Big plans can be put in place this month and look like they have been in London (the black magicians are hard at it). The new moon (representing beginnings) August 17th, is in the sign of Leo. Fire, Kingship, Royalty, Strength, Power, King of the Jungle, The Fittest Surviving. I wonder what ceremonies will be taking place then? Meanwhile, Mars (war, sport) and Saturn (structure, authority) are aligning in Libra (balance, partnership). The next full moon (culmination) will be in Pisces (Dreams, Fantasy, Mysticism, Wisdom). Having two full moons in the one month (blue moon) is quite rare and auspicious. Make of that what you will. Astrology may not be the answer to anything but TPTB show that they take note and act accordingly. |

And the duration in days of the new moon's phase. First of all, 'New Moon' is an instant in time - the instant that the centre of the Moon crosses the celestial lontitude (RA) of the centre of the Sun - it doesn't last for days. Full Moon in Oct 2013 falls on 18th/19th, depending on your location and time-zone. Oct 2013 New Moon - 5th - 00:35 UTC First quarter - 11th - 23:03 UTC Full Moon - 18th - 23:38 UTC Last quarter - 26th - 23:41 UTC |

No, that guy is telling the story that we can per month have double full moon, double half moon, double new moon, and so on everytimes, right? No honey. Not everytime. Just once in a while. Since there are genereally 30 or 31 days in a month and only 29ish days in a moon cycle eventually it will occur twice in one month. It is exceptional and cannot happen often. It won't happen again for quite a while now. But it CAN and DOES happen. |
