Re: Are We Done Here?
Good thread, OP.

Psalm 46:10

Just be still and watch in amazement.

It's really all anyone can do at this point.

 Quoting: Miggy

Then I suppose there is really no need to exist at all. Or we exist only to be still and watch? Is that the moral of the story? Participating with existence is about being still and watching? Is that the philosophy? Some deeper existentialist thought that I am missing about existence? So observation alone is existence?

By even making a comment one is more than an observer. Doing more than being still. One is participating in observation. Participatory observation? Are you familiar with that concept? Is the Bible familiar with that concept? Or are you speaking of the concept that the very act of observing creates change?

I did not read back through this thread. Perhaps my questions have already been answered. If not, it would be great if you give it a try. Not ‘give it a try’ in like a gamey way, but like, another way. Beyond a Bible verse type way. Beyond the old paradigm selected lines and verse.

Especially since we are discussing the concept of a new paradigm here. Or so I thought that is what is being discussed. Do you want a new paradigm? Or is this about rewriting the old one? Updating the language of an old one?

Are we being participatory observers in rewriting old paradigms? Or writing new ones? Seems at some point one really must, yes, make the time to be still and know the answer to those last two questions, especially. (Unless seat of one’s pants quantum chaos is one’s only bag.)

But do keep in mind that by making the time to answer such questions, or even reading them, or even checking back to see if some one made a comment to your comment, you will be doing more than observing. More than being still. Whether you answer them aloud with a comment or not. You will be participating in watching yourself exist.

Perhaps one could call that ‘amazement’. Amazement, to me, almost seems a disclaimer against disappointment. But that is probably just me. I suppose both amazement and disappointment can be equally observed in the be still and know I am God lingo and one may find that amazing. Depends how much one enjoys watching themselves I suppose.
 Quoting: A Muse Me 4768415

I believe we need to realize we are observers, but we also have the gift of participating. We can observe our actions and how our actions may play out so we need to take responsibility for that and I hope that is what the new paradigm will be focused on. It's building upon this one because we have the right ideas, it's just been empty. Empty because we don't realize how our actions affect everything.

If we purely existed to be still and watch we would not have the intelligence we have. I truly believe that at this point. We are able to separate ourselves from the rest of the animal kingdom and there is a reason for that. We have forgotten our potential and what we are capable of. Basically I think it's the potential to be infinite. I don't know, these are just my thoughts. I share a lot of the same questions and wonders regarding whether we are purely just observers or if we need to participate in some way. Not even really participate, but just actively think about all of our actions to see how they will affect the future and how our intentions are affecting things.

Re: Are We Done Here?
What I really wanted to say was take your old tired worn out Bible verses to explain the concept of participating in creating new paradigms up your ass. But I did not think that would be appropriate. After all, we just met.

But now, after deeper reflection, I wanted to see if I got a rush of amazement in watching myself make a comment like that. I did not.

Perhaps if I would have just kept my fingers on the keyboard to myself and continued "to be still and know that I am God" I would be filled with amazement. I will give that a try next.

but what in this world can we really influence in a way, greater than an animal can? (yes I realise we are pretty great with tools and technology - but apart from that)

we could be great watchers and guardians, but we chose not to, but what gave us that choice, indirectly? who is to blame? :p

 Quoting: Michael_

We can influence energy. Energy can mean a lot of things, I think of energy as emotions/intentions as well as energy that powers our systems. Animals don't realize, for example, if they walk away from us we could interpret that as them being angry with us. They just want to walk away. We put intentions into our actions by what is motivating us to do that. Because our actions have such a huge impact as a whole we need to take into account our intentions of wanting energy to power systems that promote destruction instead of sustainability. Animals don't realize how the affect the whole, they just affect it. I hope you're able to follow, again I don't know, these are just thoughts.

I wonder that too. Part of me want's to say our individuality/ego/whatever you'd like to call it. I always think in terms of the Bible. I think the 'main idea' is so incredibly simple that most people cannot understand it because it is just so simple. So we use religions as a way to prove experiences to people in hopes that they will feel the same emotion that the original author felt and therefor gain the same experience. Everybody learns differently though so written words can be misinterpreted a million different ways, as we have come to realize. I believe it has to do with forgetting the power of our thoughts and our true intentions. I can't say who is to blame because I think a lot of people truly believe they are doing the right things, they are just misguided. After typing this all out I don't think anyone is to blame. It's all necessary and now we just have to take responsibility for what our actions have done thus far. Oh my I have typed a lot, my thoughts tend to get away from me sometimes. I don't know if anyone will find this relevant or anything hm.

Yes, dear. And I offer that token of endearment in all sincerity. I hear you. I really do. I, too, believe there is a third atmosphere. I know there is. I have experienced it. Learning to communicate it in this lifetime? Language to express it in words? The challenge. My challenge. A challenge that is challenging for me. So my heart will suffice at the moment.

The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

Yes...for sure...on a quantum level we are connected in ways we could never imagine, its the separation that causes confusion and the path to "reconnect" per se, is long, hard, and full of burdens...but if we didn't have to go through these hardships, confusion and pain, we wouldn't appreciate the coming back together to make a change!
