NUCLEAR power station shut down for 1st time in history because seawater is TO WARM TO COOL the reactor
Connecticut’s nuclear power plant shut down one of two units on Sunday because seawater used to cool down the plant is too warm.
Unit 2 of Millstone Power Station has occasionally shut for maintenance or other issues, but in its 37-year history it has never gone down due to excessively warm water, spokesman Ken Holt said on Monday.

It was a real quick 10 second blurb about it on the news, then they continued their non stop coverage of some football player head butting his wife or something

Re: NUCLEAR power station shut down for 1st time in history because seawater is TO WARM TO COOL the reactor
Well THAT'S disturbing. I had a dream a couple of years ago where we were on the East Coast on a pier overlooking the Atlantic. We saw a giant wave coming and tried to run but the wave washed us into the ocean.

Here's the disturbing part (as if the giant tsunami wasn't enough)... when we were washed off the pier and into the ocean, the first thought I had in the dream was that the temperature of the water felt like a very warm bath. It was not cold like I had expected so it stood out to me in the dream.

Your thread title reminded me of that dream!blink
