I have family in las vegas i live in texas, i actually go over the dam to visit my family which last occured around 6 months ago, New Flash it was even lower then the video shows.

Most likely what is happening worldwide is the earth wobble is moving the typically arid parts of the world into the green zone and the current green locs into the desert line. We in the US are probably going to be sitting in what will be the new Sahara in the next few decades.

The drought was pretty bad here in Kansas. I still have yellow grass and brown leaves.

Now it is raining. Every other day it is raining. I am not sure of the drought is over mathematically but we finally have the rain we needed.

Too late for several crops but many we can save.

The Missouri river here is back up to normal and should be adding more volume to the Mississippi soon if not already.

Here is another perspective on this -- an I-Reporter sent in this aerial video from Indiana. He said, the corn crops should have a green look to them. Instead, as you can see, they are yellow brown. Martin Savidge filed this next report from Tennessee. He is looking at the impact this drought is having on some other industries.

MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: You might think this is some kind of desert just outside of Memphis. It`s not. I`m actually standing on the exposed bottom of the Mississippi River. That`s how dramatic the drought impact is being felt here. Hard to believe, a year ago we were talking about record flooding. Now, they are worried about a new kind of record: a record low. The river was three miles wide here, it`s now down to three tenths of a mile. And that`s causing all kinds of problems. There are some benefits, I mean, take a look over here: new beach front. In fact, some quip that now the Mississippi River has more beaches than the entire state of Florida, which would be funny if it didn`t have an impact on trade.

A lot of stuff we use goes up and down the Mississippi River. We are talking steel, coal, ore, grain. The problem is now a lot of those barges have had to lighten their loads, and even doing that, they are still running aground. There is a real fear that there could be a possibility of closing the Mississippi River. If that happens, well, all that product that used to be carried cheaply by barge is now going to be carried more expensively by truck or train. And guess who is going to pay for all of that.


It is quite serious here in the midwest. We have the Platte River that can now be WALKED across . We have lost a critical amount of crops with the livestock to follow soon as the ranchers have no fee to give them. We have been advised to focus our city water on watering trees rather than our lawns. The lawns can recover, but the trees are already stressed out and showing the signs.Some folks have taken to having their lawns spray painted green rather than try to water enough. As I said recently to a son in law, the state capitol has already implemented water rationing and imposing strict fines for violations.
Be aware that higher grain and meat, poultry will rise sharply next year as th erepercussion of our critical drought, It is as bad as the Dust Bowl era. [link to www.2012thestream.com]

That's why i'm battle so much about moringa, because it is very drought resistent, recovers soils and water and nutritionaly gives everything we nead to live well!

A friend who works on the river says a loaded barge underside is usually 20' underneath the water.

But because of the river shrinking, only 3' of underside is allowed. That means more barge traffic on the river
to transport the same amount of goods.

That was last week.

He is working close to 80 hours a week to
cover all the work load.

Trucks and rail should be really busy.

But since they took out all the tracks
back in the '80's I say there will be
overload on several supply lines.

Does anyone know just how many trucks it would take to haul 200 tonnes of grain?

Probably should ask my folks since they are truck drivers, but I'll do that later and report back if no one can answer.

One thing this video explains is WHY I had to sit for 40 minutes at a railroad crossing while this long assed train passed. The number of engines was more than I've ever seen. 6 in front and 2 at the end. 8 Engines. Holy shit! And the length of this train was unbelievable. Even traveling at 40mph it took 40 minutes to pass. That's a LOT of cars! I've not seen a train hauling that much grain in Texas in eons, but 20 years ago, diesel was a lot cheaper.

I think that this is going to get a hell of a lot more serious. NWS here in my area is calling for a very dry Fall as well.

Why dont they alternate the weather, let some rain on it.... __
