The Obama administration on Tuesday directed young illegal immigrants to fill out new forms and pay $465 if they want to apply under a new program that would let them avoid deportation and obtain a U.S. work permit. The paperwork for the program, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, can be downloaded from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website, said the agency's director, Alejandro Mayorkas. Applicants must pay a $465 fee and provide proof of identity and eligibility. A decision on each application could take several months, and immigrants have been warned not to leave the country while their application is pending. If they are allowed to stay in the United States and want to travel internationally, they will need to apply for permission to come back into the country, a request that would cost $360 more. The document, obtained by The Associated Press, estimated that the program could cost between $467.7 million and $585.4 million. [ link to bigstory.ap.org] This is awesome. So if you have a Mexican friend that you want to come to the usa. You just fill out the forms for them, or have them fill them out and mail them to you, then you submit them, with the money. Then if they get approved, you can order the travel waiver. Then mail the waiver to them and they can stroll on in, get a job, and get to work. This is a great idea. People with no violent crimes on record should be able to pay $2,000 USD/year and be able to come here and work. We were all born to this planet, so the peaceful ones, should be able to travel freely and work and explore as they please.  I have this Estonian friend - a gorgeous woman - I want to bring into the country w/o marrying. She's sweet and has no criminal record and wants to explore. Seeing as how we are "all born to this planet" I don't see why we can't apply this immigration policy to every country and every foreigner and flood the buckling American job market and welfare system with low-paid immigrants from all over the world. But this wavier program only applies to Mexicans, right? See how stupid that sounds.
