I would have done the same thing if I was the cop.

So.....Right to defend = license to kill...Wow, that is so old school wild west you could attract millions of Asian tourists and save your economy if you used it in your marketing. They know how to hit other things than the kill zones. All things considered here the father deserved a bullet, just not a fatal one, and that should have consequences too.

Also I can't imagine how dropping the bike would make it seem easier to avoid hitting or serious injury on a kid running out in front of you. Number one, you just make it a bigger bullet with a lower gravity point. A sure high flier, sometimes in more than one way.

What does the 18 year old say about how the child came to be in the road? And where there any other witnesses than the involved?

Dropping a motorcycle does two things. It brings the impacting mass below the hip and out of the way of vital organs. It also allows the impacting legs to fly into the air, absorbing most of the momentum as a spin instead of direct impacting force.


That cop had every right to protect his life. It is barbaric to think a man can take the law into his own hands and seriously injure the cop for an accident.

It is so surreal to be viewing this on this forum that I read regularly. The guy who was killed was my cousin! Seriously.
I live in Chicago and have lost 3 of my male cousins to violent deaths in the city of Maywood. Chicago in general is not very safe, but Maywood is a freakin war zone.

That being said, I love my cousin Chris to death, but he was in the wrong here. Regardless as to whether he knew the guy was a policeman or not, you don't go all cave man on someone because of an ACCIDENT! Negligent or not, it is an accident! Instead of being smart and tending to his daughter, hell maybe even getting a lawsuit for his daughter's college fund out of the deal... what does he do? Act like he has no common sense. Now his daughter has no father. Great! And his mom (My uncle's ex girlfriend) had no insurance on him so they're calling us to try to ante up money to pay for his funeral. This is insanity. I can't stand the arrogant way police act and the abuse of authority, but in this case what was the guy suppossed to do? Lay there and get beat to death by 2 guys or use deadly force? I say he used justifiable self defense. I just pray for his family. His big bro is in jail and his cousin John Passley is charged too. His daughter has to be very traumatized seeing her dad die right in front of her! But they don't care about us as it is. What they care about taking the life of a civilian (esp. minority) is nothing! Why give them a reason?!!

If this story is true, the officer had the right to protect himself. Look the kid ran out into the street, that is the PARENTS fault, not the guy on the motorcycle (cop or not.) Parents are responsible for their kids in the end. Whether he was a police officer or not, once the father decided to attack him physically the guy had the right to blast him into the next world.

Sorry, that's just the way it is. If you are stupid enough to come up to me and attack me, especially just after I crashed and am a little confused and off-balance... I will put lead into you.

Let me get this right....The dad is in getting a meal...leaves his 4 year old unattended who runs into the street to be hit by the cop who then tries to render aid.....the father who didn't give a crap whether his daughter was playing in traffic is now upset she got hit by a motorcycle and decides to blame the driver and starts to pummel him....Why wasn't he concerned with his daughters welfare and have her with him? Why didn't he let the officer administer aid? The urban troll deserved to get shot if you ask me.....daughter is way better off without him.

The dog did have a leash on it broke away from his son, It was no ones fault. it just happened, I chose to take my daughter for a walk and they were playing with their dog in the park, no big deal. I was pissed, but i didnt ask for the dog to die, i told the police that if you take that puppy from that little boy I will be furious, they kept asking if i was sure and i said yah, why would i? No most normal people first reaction would be to get help for their injured child. Why would you attack the guy helping he may be the one that can save her. Even if he hit her what was she doing in the street. Cop was justified in what he did. self-defense.
