thoughts on government
For all those who post anti government crap online. No society is perfect Utopia doesn't exist, never has never will. Our system of government while far from perfect provides a framework where anyone no matter your social class has the opportunity to seek mediation for grievances. Ours is a system where the only way evil will triumph is for the good to do nothing as long as you work within the system though it may take years the right thing is usually done look at the history of Black oppression it wasn't in Africa that blacks where first freed from slavery it wasn't in Europe hell in south Africa apartheid was still the law of the land till 1996. But our system of Government allowed the black community to overthrow centuries of societal norms for the sake of justice, Try achieving the same results in a monarchy or any other form of oligarchy where the whim of the big kahuna is law. Try getting the same results in a Socialist state where rule by committee keeps everything tied up in bureaucracy, true you could most likely get it don't in a socialist society but it would take a lot longer all it took in america was people actually standing up and doing the right thing the good man doing something and our government providing the framework that allowed these changes. When someone says our government doesn't work yet just sits at home complaining that is the good man doing nothing and of course evil will triumph. Educate yourself cause ours is a participatory government to have the freedoms we enjoy and to have the rights to fight for more freedoms or to wrong social injustices you must participate in the system and to participate in the system you must have some level of competent understanding of civics. Show me one other Nation in the history of the world that provided such a remedy for the common man. even the injustices committed to the indigenous populations of the Americas is being corrected in the courts and through legislation. The Navajo peoples of the southwestern united states have figured this out and now have a standard of living that rivals any suburban middle class "white person" some like the UTE people of Colorado and Utah figured this out early on and never suffered the economic distresses some of the other people have endured. People get the Government they deserve and for those of us who are in sub cultures or minority groups tearing down this Government is the worst of ideas for in this system we have a chance in an anarchy which is what would succeed the collapse of our political system it is a mob rule mentality where you could never go to courts you would most likely end up at the end of a rope just for being different.

Re: thoughts on government
At the first we had it right. Then they became Athenians, boy lovers, and toe tappers; the beltway is corrupt to the core and it trickles down to local and state levels, to where the whole system is bankrupt and needs to be abolished.

Re: thoughts on government
The town I live in passed an ordinance several years ago banning the owning of livestock in city limits we are peppers
especially in tornado country it is smart to be self sufficient so did we cry about it no we petitioned the city council to change the ordinance they kept tabling it month after month so came election and my sister got elected to the city counsel all it took was her walking door to door introducing herself and explaining why she wanted to be city counsel now that ordinance has been repealed and replaced with a more commonsense ordinance that doesn't infringe on a persons property rights
