It would be nice but i see them everyday(younger generation) and there is little or no identity. I observe them calling themselves n*****"* like they are black and the younger girls talking about how being a slut is paramount (young girls 10-13)and like... poverty and a lack of resources (the band)bases a lot of stuff on heredity instead of being earned.
Just a little story once years ago met a girl on the bus (native)and she was exclaiming the virtues of being a princess because she was related to the chief and how she was special.
I was disgusted by her attitude and opinion (based on nothing earned)and how she was entitled (must be a walt disney movie fan also Walt must being writhing in disgust to what was done to his company) she seemed entitled to all things without achieving anything except being related... as though everything (wisdom, experience and skill) is passed down because she is related.
I watch APTN and see how they put useless idiots on a pedestal with specialized bullshit and they just regurgitate what the elders taught them without actually being back then to understand why or the reasons for it.
They also use their supposed traditions as rhetoric and a justification for a return to the old ways (butchering and slaughtering each other for holy sites and or access to food) and how they dismiss all developments (as if they they have an education)as though it is the enemy.
They see the world (younger generation though not all) through parents and grandparents eyes and supposed elders opinions.
It is to bad and perhaps unfortunate for the ones who actually listen to that bullshit (guilt) and perceive the outside world as as threat to them while the poison is happening in the reserve.
They now with white guilt on the rise well seem to have a say in Canada's developing resource base without being educated to understand all the issues being handled and why... they have a hate on and it comes from a lot of backward leaders (tradionalist who want power)who use emotion to fuel the ignorant among them..
