Re: A true christian would never eat meat....
Again, this is coming from a common misunderstanding about reincarnation. The belief is sold to us that we reincarnate in order to progress.

But we are perfect, pure souls. There's nowhere to progress to.

Life is for experience, NOT for progression.
 Quoting: Sandi_T

Under what context would accumulating experiences not be viewed as progression?

I have to disagree with that notion. Your past lives contribute to who you are today, to me living those experiences is progress. If there was no progression you would just reincarnate endlessly and nothing you would do or accomplish in those lives would matter.

why would anything in those past lives matter anyway, if that whole life, progression or even points of failure where wiped from your memory?
if you were not aware of what you did wrong in previous lives, that could have the very likely possability of you being stuck in and endless life after life after life matrix for eternity. if you dont have a chance to learn from the mistakes in a previous life, how could one be expected to better ones self?
like for example, if i touck a hot stove, i burn my hand, then i know not to touch it again, but through reincarnation, i would be forced to retouch the stove every life to find out it hot n not to touch it. how would that equil progression?

i understand what you're saying, i just really dont believe the plausability of reincarnation. still it in itself doent make sence on why we would reincarnate.
but thank you for taking the time to explain it to to me.

is this just what you believe it to be, or is there a sect of theology that believes this way too?

i will stick with my own beliefs however. i have waaaay too much proof in my life of God/Jesus to just walk away from (like your NDE), although i think my thoughts on what hell is, or even what it is not, are changing the more i study up on it.
 Quoting: Krime 5469820

I'm not asking you to change your view on anything. Personally, I KNOW that God showed up to you as Jesus because you wouldn't have believed or accepted any other way. That doesn't make God's name Jesus, it just means that it's the only condition under which you'd have accepted God.

My purpose in these discussions is to free the minds of seekers and give them choices. And, you asked without an intent to use what I say for the purpose of mockery.

im sorry if i insinuated that i thought you were trying to change my beliefs. no no no, thats not what i ment at all, im sorry for stating it like that.

as far as God showing Himself as Jesus (fyi, im not a believer that Jesus was God, but the Word of God sent as Gods Son), that parts just not true at all.

the first time i saw Jesus i was like 15, i knew nothing really of the bible really, my family didnt/doesnt really go to church.
i had a dream cant remember what it was though, but it was a normal dream, but at the end i saw a picture of jesus then all the sudden a picture of Satan, and i woke up shaking and full of sweat. like it was telling me to choose, or that i needed to make a choice (i didnt get into God till my 20's btw)

ive had crazy dreams about Revelations as well.

but one instance is this:
my wife (who was pregnate at the time) my 2 kids and myself were living with a roomate and her family (cuz due to the economy im dirt poor), but thrn we found out the roomate was on meth (im 11 years clean) and she was going to move her daughter and her husband in, which the husband was her dealer, we decided we couldnt live there anymore (for obvious reasons), and i asked my parents to move in, they said yes but they were moving to Vegas with their friend who was in the prosses of buying a new house, so thet were leaving in 2 weeks.
i tried everything in my power to get a job and/or a place to live, to no avail.
my wife and kids stayed at her moms for a night (2 days before my parents were supposed to go, here parents live in a 32 foot RV, so no possability of moving there) and i had to go pick them up the next morning. needless to say, i was stressed to the point of crying (literally), her mom live about 45min away, so its a long drive. as i was driving, i looked in the sky a happy face (other than that there were no clouds at all), and i smiled and thought, well maybe thats just God tellen me to cheer up, i even laught a little. then i started seeing happy face clouds everywhere. i picked up my wife and kids and headed back to my parents, and my wife was seeing what i was seeing. when we got home my parents told us their friend lost the house in escrow, and they were staying, and we had a place to live.
(this is all the same day)my parents have little windows on the top of their front door, and for like 2 hours the sun reflected through those windows in the form of a happy face. ive never seen that happen again at that door, and believe me, i looked.

We'll have to agree to disagree. You can't be 15 years old in this country and not have heard of Jesus. And clearly you'd seen pictures of him, or you wouldn't have been able to identify the dream picture.

Regardless, as I say, it's just a point of disagreement. Believe whatever you really believe. It's not my intent to change your beliefs, only to protect the minds of seekers from accepting a religion that teaches some pretty evil stuff.

By the way, on a side note, congrats on your sobriety! Two thumbs up and a

Peter`s Vision of animals in a cage, said Peter himself, related to reaching out to the Gentile world, not seeing Gentiles as unclean.

walk with christ? or so you say...

compassion is key to walking in hand with the holy spirit.

Know the real holy spirit? - you would never eat meat.

how is eating dead animals showing compassion to our animal brothers and sisters? the same compassion the man called jesus taught...

and for those who pull our that bible scripture it isn't what goes in it is what comes out... that passage refers to much deeper things than FOOD.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1747431

Because GOD SAYS IN HIS WORD TO EAT YOU WACK JOB!!!! WE( GENTILES) DO NOT.....REPEAT....WE DO NOT LIVE UNDER THE OLD LAW ...WE LIVE UNDER GRACE!!!!!! GOD COMMANDED THE EATING OF CLEAN AND UNCLEAN ANIMALS FOR THE jewish people ONLYYYYYYY!!!!!
IT BOGGLES MY MIND HOW U PPL CAN SAY U ARE CHRISTIAN WHEN U DONT HAVE AN OUNCE OF DISCERNING SPIRIT WHATSOEVER.....NOR DO YOU KNOW OR UNDERSTAND THE WORD OF MIGHTY GOD!!!!.
UNTIL YOU DO.........STOP POSTING UR RETARTED CRAP!!! MAN MN THEOLOGIES!!!!
 Quoting: LittleMissSunshine

Of course you're god is mighty because he is not the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL. You said it yourself "the word of mighty god." Well the Eternal One is ALMIGHTY and nothing is outta his power. And sorry do you read your bible?

Matthew 5:18
I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

AND

Numbers 15:15
The community is to have the same rules for you and for the alien living among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the LORD:

Same rules for the community (Israel) and the stranger (You gentiles). Sorry. And lastly dont forget:

John 4:22

You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the jewish people.

Im sure you're gonna bring something from Paul that says otherwise. Oh well you're fault for trusting in man rather than the Almighty One
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21990558

you wrote true verses, however, Christ Himself stated in Matthew 22:36-40
to love God
and to love your neighbor as you do yourself
and with those two commandment you can hang all the LAWS and the prophets on that
(my own words if you couldnt tell)

in those 2 commandments, all the LAWS fsll under, according to Christ Himself.
 Quoting: Krime 5469820

Yep because ALL OF THE LAW hangs under those two. Just read the ten commandments and see how each commandment falls under either Loving the Almighty One or loving your neighbor as yourself.

Re: A true christian would never eat meat....
Dumb. Read Acts, where Paul encounters a tapestry of myriad animals, and God tells him to eat.

He says no, and God basically says that it is ok.

It was a metaphor for jewish people and Gentiles, but the message is as clear as it was in the Old Testament: EVerYTHING is good to eat. He put it here for US. I wouldn't recommend possum, but sure, you CAN eat it.

Also, like Christ HIMSELF said, it's not what you put INTO your body that matters; what comes out of it makes you clean or unclean.

OP is pretentious, misleading garbage. You speak of being a True Christian, yet your fruit would lead me to believe otherwise. I suspect Aethist trolling to get a rise out of Christians. Are you? Or just a misled fool.

In either case, you CAN eat meat, and still receive the Holy Seal. Still enter His Kingdom. And HONESTLY-your presence in His company relies on Faith in His Son; loving God with all your heart, and treating your neighbors how you want to be treated. Simple, really.

Stop spinning bullshit and trying to make Christians look bad. Ass.

Under what context would accumulating experiences not be viewed as progression?

I have to disagree with that notion. Your past lives contribute to who you are today, to me living those experiences is progress. If there was no progression you would just reincarnate endlessly and nothing you would do or accomplish in those lives would matter.
 Quoting: ANHEDONIC

 Quoting: Sandi_T

Sandi I never said the purpose was reincarnating was to stop reincarnating, so I'm not sure what gave you that impression. Does that even make any sense?

I believe the purpose of reincarnating is to gain experience so you can eventually traverse the higher dimensions. I never said we were trapped here or implied that this wasn't a conscious decision to incarnate. I simply don't want to do it anymore so my goal has been to learn what I set out to learn & experience what I came here for.

What is wrong with identifying with progression if you have no destination in mind? What is wrong with wanting to advance oneself? Do artists hone their talents with the intention of some final achievement in mind? Or do they simply enjoy what they do and desire to continually improve their trade?

Why do you feel there needs to be a 'bad guy' to facilitate the process of advancement and progression? If you learn through experience, why must there always be an antagonist? We can't learn in the absence of negative energy? Do you believe every dimension follows the same mold as this one? I don't.

I disagree with you about playing the 'villain' AFTER you played the 'monk'. I think you've got the order wrong.

I disagree with you about playing the 'villain' AFTER you played the 'monk'. I think you've got the order wrong.

Seriously, though, we're just going to talk circles around each other.

There's nothing to do, nothing to progress... human souls are already perfect.

We don't come here to learn, we come here to Complete the Paradox of God.

And there are some other places that work the same way as far as having duality, but Earth is in its own way rather unique in the universe. A different discussion for another time.

The problem comes back to the issue of learning, as if our eternal souls weren't already full of all knowledge and wisdom. There's nothing for us to learn, all is already known.

Our souls already exist fully in "higher dimensions"... in fact, there is none higher.

And I know that you think I have it in the wrong order. Because you assume that there is a soul progression, and there isn't. There's no need for that which is perfect already to progress. There is no incompletion or inadequacy in our souls.

I see past lives. And I am telling you that many people go back and forth between dualities. Because a villain is required to create evil, which is required to Complete the Paradox.

Yet we are all just actors on a stage. None of it is 'real', as we all know when we go Home. Yet if we didn't experience it AS REAL, then it would not Complete the Paradox, and it would be pointless.

You pita dummy....Jesus ate meat...

walk with christ? or so you say...

compassion is key to walking in hand with the holy spirit.

Re: A true christian would never eat meat....
im sorry if i insinuated that i thought you were trying to change my beliefs. no no no, thats not what i ment at all, im sorry for stating it like that.

as far as God showing Himself as Jesus (fyi, im not a believer that Jesus was God, but the Word of God sent as Gods Son), that parts just not true at all.

the first time i saw Jesus i was like 15, i knew nothing really of the bible really, my family didnt/doesnt really go to church.
i had a dream cant remember what it was though, but it was a normal dream, but at the end i saw a picture of jesus then all the sudden a picture of Satan, and i woke up shaking and full of sweat. like it was telling me to choose, or that i needed to make a choice (i didnt get into God till my 20's btw)

ive had crazy dreams about Revelations as well.

but one instance is this:
my wife (who was pregnate at the time) my 2 kids and myself were living with a roomate and her family (cuz due to the economy im dirt poor), but thrn we found out the roomate was on meth (im 11 years clean) and she was going to move her daughter and her husband in, which the husband was her dealer, we decided we couldnt live there anymore (for obvious reasons), and i asked my parents to move in, they said yes but they were moving to Vegas with their friend who was in the prosses of buying a new house, so thet were leaving in 2 weeks.
i tried everything in my power to get a job and/or a place to live, to no avail.
my wife and kids stayed at her moms for a night (2 days before my parents were supposed to go, here parents live in a 32 foot RV, so no possability of moving there) and i had to go pick them up the next morning. needless to say, i was stressed to the point of crying (literally), her mom live about 45min away, so its a long drive. as i was driving, i looked in the sky a happy face (other than that there were no clouds at all), and i smiled and thought, well maybe thats just God tellen me to cheer up, i even laught a little. then i started seeing happy face clouds everywhere. i picked up my wife and kids and headed back to my parents, and my wife was seeing what i was seeing. when we got home my parents told us their friend lost the house in escrow, and they were staying, and we had a place to live.
(this is all the same day)my parents have little windows on the top of their front door, and for like 2 hours the sun reflected through those windows in the form of a happy face. ive never seen that happen again at that door, and believe me, i looked.
 Quoting: Krime 5469820

We'll have to agree to disagree. You can't be 15 years old in this country and not have heard of Jesus. And clearly you'd seen pictures of him, or you wouldn't have been able to identify the dream picture.

Regardless, as I say, it's just a point of disagreement. Believe whatever you really believe. It's not my intent to change your beliefs, only to protect the minds of seekers from accepting a religion that teaches some pretty evil stuff.

By the way, on a side note, congrats on your sobriety! Two thumbs up and a

chorus
 Quoting: Sandi_T

first, TYVM for the congratz!

second, ya ill admit, i heard of Jesus (although very very little), and had seen a picture or 2, but you didnt see ehat i saw, believe me, not quite the same.
yes, we can agree to disagree!
tbh, i mostly just get on people for takken too much shit about what i believe in, and/or really fucken up and/or twisting scripture.

see Sandi-T?
like this person here who pulls and chooses only what he/she is trying to represent, without giving thought to what those passages actually say and/or are trying to represent.
98% of those passages are taken from the OT, first of all.
20% (about) havent a freaken thing to do with eating meat, one way or another.
and with shit like Paul taking a vow, he/she some how just comes up with a notion that the vow was not to eat meat? WTF?

dude, if you're gonna quote scripture, say what it states in whole, not just what you want it to mean and/or represent.

Leviticus: I will set my face against them that eat blood.
Judges 13: The breaking of the Nazarite vow (no flesh.. no hair cutting) was the cause of Samson`s downfall.
Job 12: 8 Speak to the earth and she will teach thee (of patience, nurturing, unconditional love, freely giving to all) [link to www.compassionatespirit.com]
Exodus 20: 13 Thou Shalt Not Kill (This is not asterisked in the Bible... Later translations such as New King James diluted King James to "Thou Shalt Not Murder" [link to www.ivu.org.cob-web.org:8888]
Genesis 6: Noah was commanded by God to provide vegetarian food for the animals on the ark. Lions were given milk. [link to www.vegweb.com.cob-web.org:8888]

Jesus: My father`s House is a House of Prayer. You have made it a den of thieves and butchers (where animal sacrifice occurred). The original Greek word for plunderer was rendered `thief` by translators. (the Greek gemousin osteon nekronis translated as `full of dead men`s bones` when it is in actuality `full of dead bones`. Interpretations divide. The Spirit Unites. May The Holy Spirit Overshadow Us All and All Creation. May differences of opinion, Holy Spirit, be to us as pleasing as the apple tree`s making crimson apples while the vine makes royal purple grapes. The Nazarite diet is described in Numbers.
Deuteronomy 5: Thou Shalt Not Kill (later versions than the King James translate this as Thou Shalt Not Murder)
Exodus 20: 13 Thou Shalt Not Kill brought down the mountain literally Lo Tirtzach ... (this is nonkilling, not nonmurder) The Biblical command "Thou Shalt Not Kill" which J J Price cites as a reason to change diet ... is not asterisked "to include humans only". The Biblical command "Thou Shalt Not Steal" which Kathy Kurtz cites can be related to not purloining the eggs from chickens nor the milk from mother cows whose calves are then butchered for veal.
Genesis 6: Noah was commanded by God to provide vegetarian food in the ark for people and animals. (The lions drank the milk of cows.)
Genesis 9: 4-5 Flesh shall yet not eat. And surely your blood I will require at the hands of beasts. (God forgive us all and help us all to change.)
Job 12: 8 Speak to the earth and she will teach thee (of patience, humility, forgiveness, universal nurturing) Job 5: You will be in league with the stones of the field and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. Isaiah 42: He shall break not the bruised reed.
