Of course it is a defensive round. My 1911 is loaded with them right now. That is NOT what I was discussing. My point simply was that a hollow point is not a good choice for hunting, unless you are merely hunting trophies, not meat -- if that is the case -- fuck you, asshole!

Wonder how one of those "bullet proof" checkpoints would stand up to a loaded semi tractor trailer going about 70 mph when it hits?

lol. VERY good point. I immediately thought of the Jewish resistance fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto using molotovs against the SS tanks and DRIVING them out.

That's my take on it too.

We're turning into a hardcore, modern version of communism, and they are already sending out messages that the old people are a waste of space and only take up valuable resources from younger, healther people who will be able (forced) to work at least 12 hours a day 7 days a week for almost nothing.

They know many older people have money because they worked all their lives and saved, also they have retirement. So they will confiscate the wealth of those doomed people, and save money on those who are broke or need long term medical care by doing away with them.

The communists pretend to care about the poor guy, when in reality their number 1 interest is money and they will do anything to get it.

When those people ruled the Soviet Union, they used pliers to remove gold fillings from people's teeth. They rounded up millions and threw them in the gulags under false charges so they could have free slave labor.

All they care about is money while pretending to care about the common good. In Russia they did not steal from the rich and give to the poor, they stole from the rich and put those riches in their pockets. They then scattered a few crumbs among the many poor citizens telling them they should be grateful and happy.

They are the ultimate deceivers and proud of it.

As we slide into dictatorship, signs and messages are beginning to appear that should make older Americans consider moving to a safer place for them, if such a place even exists.

Re: Social-Security Admin now requesting Ammo
ammo is used for one thing, shooting. question is what does the SSA plan to shoot? for that matter what does a government of, by and for the people plan on shooting with all those millions of hollow point rounds?

these rounds are warehoused in the U.S. and likely intended for use in the U.S.. So what is in the U.S. that they might be shooting at? Paper target for one thing. Anything else?

need to think long and hard to know what this is about.

Look for a significant reduction in your social security checks in the next 12 months. And within 2 years it will come to an end.

So you guys who are still working and are paying into it will never see a dime. And worse, they're using your money to buy all this ammo to be used against you....

Here is some food for thought. What if the government knew of something down the road, such as ammo being outlawed. If they were forwarned, would it not be prudent to stockpile massive amounts of ammo? Just something else to chew on.

This is a procurement that is nothing new. If you look at the contacts for SSA you will see that there are multiple locations. And all the contacts are with OIG offices of the Inspector General. These are investigators that go out in the field to bust people who are defrauding the government. Well it get harry at times and they need to defend themselves.

Their gun of choice is the Glock 31 which if you do enough research you will see this ammo is for that weapon.

Nothing to really see here.

Organizations in the government have always procured ammo etc to protect their investigators. Ever since the NOAA report came out, it was just some person who found the procurement on FedBizOps (FBO) which is where the govt lists for bids on things they want to buy, to allow contractors to openly bid to provide the service or supply.

So once this person saw this ammo bid they freaked and saw other organizations doing it. Sorry guys, thought the NOAA story got me going at first also, once I did some research and have had some experience with FBO myself I know what its all about and it is really nothing out of the norm.

:)

Another thing to note, With SSA or organizations who have claimants, sometimes they get denied a claim and get aggressive and violent, some have threatened to kill people or blow up offices, hence the need for protection!

Perhaps but think of it like this: combine this with the DHS MASSIVE purchase and the NWS/NOAA purchase and what do you have: government agencies with enough firepower to subdue the population. Think about it:

DHS would be the overall controlling entity after social programs go broke following our economic demise. (I.E. when shit hits the fan and our country collapses under the massive weight of debt) The SSA would have to defend themselves when the "free money" stops. Now where does the NWS/NOAA fall into place? They are in charge of the federal wildlife officers. When people start to get desperate they may go out into the parks in search of food. The wildlife officers would be able to help control the last of the "escapees".

This is not looking good!

Could it be that all the years of chat on survivalist websites has given the government a heads up as to where all the "escapees" are going to go, and how they plan to do it?

I am just speaking for SSA, the title of the post. I haven't researched enough yet with NOAA and DHS (Who by the way are tasked with FPS (federal Police) who guard and tend to federal properties and offices.

I was just stating that the purchase from SSA is NOT out of the ordinary. FY2013 is opening up and new procurements are starting to be submitted.

Just sayin!

As far as the agencies ordering ammo is concerned, most of their building security is contracted and ammo is supplied by the contracted company. Exceptions include Justice and Defense Agencies. Some have suggested that NOAA provides security for fisheries, etc -- that would be the US Fish & Wildlife Service and/or Forestry, they are part of the Dept of Interior as far as I know, unless they were reorganized into another agency.

Geesh! Get over your testosterone.

Irony, you are the one who needs to settle your hormones buddy!

MOST OF building security is contracted. True, but they DO have armories with TONS of goodies.

I was, at first, alarmed by the report/posts but after I checked around and hade a nice talk on base, there is nothing to be concerned of.
