Just remember when you go out on a date, expect to pay your fair share and your date pay her fair share. This is where "Dutch treat" expression came from.

By the way, have you ever babysat a thread for 24 hours? It's amusing what people post, that's for sure.

Aw thanks. The majority of the Dutch that I meet are very welcoming. I don't mind riding a bike at all. It's good exercise.

Are muslims all over or concentrated in the bigger cities?

Oh yeah, that's required. I've watched a lot of YT videos of people biking there and how some of them lock up their bikes. It's probably a good idea not to have that great of a bike.

I don't know yet. I can live anywhere in the NL.

I'm still looking for something.

I was kind of hoping someone in GLP would want to rent out a room to me. Or maybe somebody wants to buy property over there and hire me to manage it for them while they travel Europe. (Heh!) NL would be a good location to have as a base and then travel around.

Re: Moving to The Netherlands, Tell Me What to Expect!
- in general the establishment, economic and political power lies within North and South Holland (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague).
- Holland represents another mentality, more bragging and louder, where Provincialen are more modest and reserved.
- Holland often falsely represents the Netherlands in foreign countries.

This is why Provincialen (ppl from the other provinces) dislike Hollanders I suppose.

So you call people from North and South Holland, Dutch?
And everyone else is called a Hollander?

Yes. I'm a little nervous about the language part. But, my understanding it's basic things and not actually a command of the language.

As for this thread, I'm trying to learn all I can about their culture.
