The Dutch started to get less freedom, police everywhere ridiculous rules.

The Dutch have severe problems with North Africans that cannot adapt. Additionally the US gang culture slowly became the life of a lot of kids. Playing getto.

Now they are closing the coffeeshops practically by issuing crazy laws. In fact they could probably close every coffeeshop TODAY because of the insane 15% THC rule.

For everything there's a rule. And then everything is artificial as the whole country is cultivated or even created (which is an interesting achievement.) Not my thing I like nature and mountains.

Try Zwolle, Apeldoorn, Deventer, Amersfoort, Enschede, Hengelo

Like I said: go to the east of Holland: Twente and the Achterhoek. Rural, nature. Enschede has 200K+ inhabintants and a University.

You just go to the Veluwe (NL) or the Ardennes (BE) and have a look there

And about people being high on hash & weed I'd like to point out that they don't cause the kind of problems (agression being one) alcohol causes.

Where did you live? Probably in a big city. We don't have police over here where I live (really!) and at night only 5 cars patrol the entire province :-)

I went 7 times to the US, starting in the Ronald Reagan
and Archie Bunker (lol) periode in 1985.

At that time I was 24, and I went because Bruce Springsteen's album Born in the USA.


Yess the Boss invited me to you country.

I am still a loyal fan, I saw him this year in
Cologne and went for a 2 day trip to Paris to see him!
He is still my inspiration!!

Now he is playing in Fenway Park in Boston, wow
what a history in that stadium, more than 100 years old!


From my location its 3 or 4 hours by train to Paris, London, Brussels, or Berlin, Frankfurt or what ever.
Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are around 90 minutes.

But at that time in 1985 it were Glory days all the way
for me!!
I went to Orlando/Disneyland 5 days, saw the everglades
and ended up at Key West and got drunk with the sailors.
In Orlando I meet a guy from New York with his girlfriend
they invited me to New York.
So, my first visit to New York was a year later in 86!




My first landing on American ground was
a flight with Pan-Am from Amsterdam to Atlanta.

My first Budweiser was at the transit area at Atlanta.

After 2 hours there I was on the Plane to Miami!

It was my first American city to visit. ( many would follow after that, I tell you later, if you want!)

How I came to the choice Miami?
It was because the series Miami Vice haha

When I arrived and landed my first time,

Me too. But, I have a better chance at establishing myself as a Dutch citizen first. Then, I can explore the rest of Eu. to find nature if I can't find it in The Netherlands.

I actually am part German but not enough to establish myself as a citizen there.
