The more I study the topic, the more I wonder how many of the cases I read about started down the path of researching SRA and quickly dismiss the possibility of mental illness.
Mental health is a very real concern, unfortunately it exists as well as SRA.
It is difficult to tell the different in SRA and real mental illness by definition. If you assume incorrectly and keep going down the path of studying the symptoms of SRA and are wrong you may end up causing more problems than if you just had a mental illness. On the other hand, the fears of being wrong the other way are all to clear as well.
In both cases they mimic each other, SRA triggers mimic 'regular' actions. In mental illness 'regular' actions mimic triggers. Reminds me of the movie A Beautiful Mind. It seems that SRA may be structured the way that it is, so that it mimics mental illness. Though, I'm sure you can find something to 'self-diagnose' the difference. Sometimes it may be hard to determine what you are biased towards. You should find people who you know you can trust that can be open minded to the facts, you don't even have to tell them it is personal. Make sure you include anything that may support both possibilities. This is so that you can filter out any blindness created by either SRA or mental illness. The worst thing you can do though, is shut out a good answer. That is what would happen if you were just mentally ill. I completely understand that you also have to play it safe in the SRA case, and that is why you should try to lay it out in a 'my friend' to a person you can trust to judge the facts. That may be hard to do, but you can do it.
I think we are all familiar with people who believe they were kidnapped by aliens or are best friends with President Obama. Those seem to be easier for outsiders to help sort out, but since SRA is based on your memories you have to figure out if they are really your memories, or if you are even interpreting them correctly. Make sure you are being careful, because the jump down the SRA path is a scary one, and you want to be sure before you commit to it. I have no doubt that just like the other illnesses there are (thankfully) some people who falsely believe they are SRA victims, unfortunately this makes it taboo to talk about real SRA in the mainstream.
I don't know if you have put out enough evidence for GLPers to interpret it for you. You do have GLPers to help support you though.
You just have to be strong and find peace without all the religious interferences and without other people telling you how to do that. If I were in your shoes I would try to determine if I were strong enough to endure reading up on the symptoms of the alternative. The real problem is that by definition if you are ill, you will be making illogical connections, and if you are a victim of SRA you may be just returning to what you were programmed to do.
Try doing all the self-help things that would go along with therepy but on your own. Such as, taking natural supplements and de-toxifying. These practices are good for the spirit as well and couldn't hurt anything in either case. I'm sure these things will help you deal with all the stress of either scenario.
Don't feel hopeless, in either instance you can prevail.
Remain strong and keep looking for answers. I'm sure that you can endure and find the truth.
I agree wholeheartedly with ice cream.
