Governments and the uber rich have been and are stepping up their preps for more than just a run of the mill economic down turn. The seed bank in Norway was not built because of a currency issue. The underground bunkers today are way bigger than anything we ever heard about during the old cold war when we thought a nuclear war between the US and the Soviet Union was a serious threat. Ammo for non-police civil agencies like NOAA and the Social Security Administration? Seriously?

Folks, economic doom is definitely a clear and present danger, but the preps the big guys are doing point to something bigger.

Saw a post somewhere else yesterday (maybe a link from zerohedge) that suggested why SS would be buying ammo. One of the many articles saying that China seemed to be moving toward a gold-backed currency with an eye toward becoming the new world reserve, in which case the US dollar would collapse and, among other things, Social Security would stop sending out checks. At which point, angry starving folks would start storming their local offices. Can't imagine the local offices would still be staffed in that case, but it's a thought anyway.

I, too, was thinking more along the lines of a manufactured war being started so that the manufactured collapse can be fixed afterward.

Another "error" -- not likely. I think unrest will happen in November regardless the election outcome. Contingent on just how bad the unrest becomes, we could be looking at a stalling of all normal functions. If the stall does not quickly abate, a collapse may ensue.

I wish we could find out if Soros is also stockpiling household supplies & food in addition to the gold; would also like to know if he is beefing personal security in the next few months. Would speak volumes.

It's a game of perception to inflict more hardship and control over the masses which gets cascaded down the pyramid. The debt is fictional. They print the money and nothing stops them from printing more or actually acting as if nothing is wrong. The planet hasn't run out of trees and the computers haven't run out of digits. The printing presses aren't also short on ink.

Because it takes a hell of a lot of money to prepare for the end of the world as we know it and to keep sheople from getting alarmed and watching while you do it.

Sort of a covert QE. Also another means of transferring funds to bankers/brokerage houses -- when the stock prices hit a certain point, they dump. This leaves all the infused $ in their hands and drains the average Joe who thought the coast was clear & jumped back in with both feet.

I could be wrong. Have a bit in the market but only buy on a down tick. Keep the remainder spread about in cash & tangible metals.

Well yes, its perfectly clear why this is happening, and people are de-risking their asset portfolio's.

The clear reason is the Euro, and that we are far away from solving the issue with this.

Lets be honest, who among us has much paper currency anyhow. We have food, land, silver, g and a, but no paper in my house. Our paper is electronic and with the mortgage it's negative.
