The corn that will fill humans, livestock, and cars bellies next year will be harvested this fall. We are still consuming last years corn. We are also eating the beef from the animals that are being sent to slaughter now, because the farmers have nothing to feed them. We were already at a record low in beef supply, do to the farmers in Texas having to sell of so much of their herds last year. So after this batch goes to slaughter, there won't be much left. Most of the crops (in fact a very large percentage) grown in the USA are exported. Grains such as corn and wheat goes to Russia and China. Alfalfa grown for livestock gets exported to Japan. Fresh vegetables comes from Cal and Mexico. |

Which... we are already 2 months in from the drought start. I have family in New York City... food prices have already began to increase roughly 20-40% on many items already. It will not come to "small town" America till Fall/Winter. In large cities, food prices are already climbing. Mark my words.
