You should absolutely cash out your 401K, but not for this reason.
You lose control of any and all money you put into a 401K. You THINK you control it, but you don't. You don't control the market. Morever, if you want your money back, you not only have to pay tax, but an additional 10% penalty. Who the fuck gave the government the authority to ass rape you for the additional 10%???

Further, I'm willing to bet the average swinging dick with a 401K is nowhere close to being able to retire when he reaches retirement age. A 401K will NOT keep you comfortable in retirement. It will not happen. They won't let it.
