Have you ever been told that you're just not good enough? You're not handsome or pretty enough? You're not smart enough? You're not rich enough? You're not popular, funny, thin, beautiful, educated.......and the list goes on? Do you feel like an outcast of society?
Do you ever feel like you're not lovable, or worth much at all because the world tells you that?
Let's look at some famous biblical characters and see if they were perfect.
Noah was drunk Abraham was too old Isaac was a daydreamer Jacob was a liar Leah was ugly Joseph was abused Moses had a stuttering problem Gideon was afraid Samson had long hair and was a womanizer Rahab was a prostitute Jeremiah and Timothy were too young David had an affair and was a murderer Elijah was suicidal Isaiah preached naked Jonah ran from God Naomi was a widow Job went bankrupt Peter denied Christ The Disciples fell asleep while praying Martha worried about everything The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once Zaccheus was too small Paul was a murderer Timothy had an ulcer..AND Lazarus was dead!

Let's look at Jesus and some the people that He hung out with, the people that He choose as His friends.
Jesus- carpenter Andrew - fisherman Paul - tent maker Peter- fisherman John - fisherman James - fisherman Matthew - tax collector Mary Magdelene - demon possessed woman

Let's look at how the world would view Him. He was homeless, penniless, not so good looking, radical, called insane and demon possessed, uneducated, hated, spit on and called names, and He probably would be called a conspiracy theorist to top it all off. He was viewed as such a threat to the ones in power back then, that they actually killed Him.
By today's standards, He would be considered the bottom of the barrel. Yea, God in the flesh would have been considered a looser too by the people in the world that think they really got it going on.

Now let's look at what Jesus taught.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Notice that Jesus didn't say "Blessed are you that workout at the gym 7 days a week. Blessed are you that drive a BMW. Blessed are you that have a 5 bedroom 3 bath house, blessed are you that graduated from Harvard. Blessed are you that wear size 2 dress and blessed are you that have 28141 friends on facebook."
No, His message was quite different then that. It was a message of what's in your heart & how you treat others.

Now here's the best news of all: Jesus loves you, even though the world tells you that you're not lovable. Jesus tells you that you're worth it, even though the world doesn't think so. Jesus tells you that you are wonderfully made, even tho the world tells you that you're not quite good enough. He wants you to be part of His Kingdom, yea He thinks you're worth it, warts and all!
