I delivered Pizza in Kansas City years ago and had a friend (well built and strong) who was a fire fighter... they busted his face up so bad over a freakin pizza he had his jaw wired shut.

I was white... the blacks threw bricks and rocks at my car. There were kind blacks who tipped me and knew of my plight so I won't paint them all with the same brush, but it is a turf issue and if you are not their color you are breaching their turf plain and simple.

They asked me to go in the black neighborhood at night and I told management you either transfer me to another store or I'm quiting... they transfered me.

Jesus really protected me in the hood... there is nothing comparable to His protection and prayer. You have to remember that gang initiations will produce random acts of violence that may not make sense.

Pizza delivery people get attacked fairly often.Been going on for years.Most the stories stay in the local papers so its not known widely.Know a fool thats in prison now for life over almost killing a delivery driver.Ordered a pizza to an empty house then almost killed the guy and got 10 bucks.This happened 20 years ago.Couple years ago a driver was killed locally so its not just bad areas.Its a job I wouldnt want but I guess most take the job out of necessity.

There was plenty of poverty and political turmoil, rape, murder, sadness, hate and anger in the world back in the 60's or whenever it was you grew up in CA. The difference is that is wasn't in your area. It was in other places in the country and other places in the world.

Plenty of nice safe community's exist in the current America.
