Re: Why do Christians care whether people get saved or not.
The answer in a nutshell:

Jesus demands that we love one another, and that it is not just about us, or just our salvation. A true Christian should love his brother as he loves himself. So, if one loves others as much as he love himself, then this can only be demonstrated by a desire to save all.

Jesus didn't say the world should go to church. He said the church should 'go' to the world.

Mark 16:15-16 (New King James Version) 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

it is important to them that everyone agree that they are right.

if a thousand people believe what they do, they are REALLY right.

if two thousand believe, they are twice as right.

and when they have three thousand, they are downright righteous!

I personally don't really give a rats ass if you agree with me or not.

Did you have any point at all, or did your tangent flower?
 Quoting: Borian

oh, i think you get my point quite clearly,

try to remain calm, this whole thing is not that important, that you need to swear at people about it. chill.

Well, no it isn't that I'm getting upset and swearing at people as you freely toss out there, but it's more that you generalize peoples beliefs then get all hurt that someone generalizes you. So without either of us being upset, I'll ask again..

your point?

That's like asking...

Why did the human species create religion?
 Quoting: Ephere

To ensure good, sociable and productive behavior from people. One of the most important arguments presented in threads like this is that without religion people become immoral and treat each other badly. But if they become Christians they love each other, live clean and blameless lives and treat each other right. It is much easier to govern when each individual carries their own policeman inside their head. You will see this argument over and over again. When people reject religion, they become hedonistic, ill behaved, selfish, take drugs, indulge in illicit sex, have unwanted babies etc. etc.
