I am on lamictal/lamotrigine and it works great. Here is a quick reference on different meds: [link to www.psycheducation.org] |

I was wrong! Not only did she become a stark raving madd lunatic, she unbalanced me as well. I still do not believe in medications, but apparently some people are not strong enough to overcome the chemical imbalance or the demons. Which ever the case may be. It is horrible that any person is dependent(addicted)but I must admit it seems to be the only way for some people to stay sane. I do not understand it, but I am forced to concede. I hope you find a chemical that brings your sons mind peace and clarity. I would at least try lithium citrate if you havn't already. |

I was on haldol for schizophrenia, and it's like alchoholism... there is an ongoing sense of impending doom, dread, that comes with schizophrenia, you need to just outgrow your brain. Drugs wont solve it; its the person specifically. shitty deal. |

You would probably also say that if I said to go live in the jungle during any period of over-excitation of that response. There is a purpose behind everything, the mind is a gift. The overactive mind is simply lacking the discipline to restrain the emotions and trains of thought. The idea is not to restrain, but to follow them logically.. Secondly, I will add. Medical marijuana, of the kind to treat anxiety. If you get the wrong kind, or cheap, poison that is part of the drug war, you will likely experience poisonous and degrading effects. |

Australia's only medical marijuana farm was raided recently & they owner jailed (even though he was complying with gov't regulations) I wouldn't trust getting anything from Nimbin either :( He's 20 & I can only limit what he eats while he is at home & he loves all the 'bad' stuff. |

While my son was in High School he was fine as his mind was active. He went down hill within 6 months & now with this particular medication they have court ordered him on he has no get up & go to study & there's is no work in this small town for him so his mind is wandering all the time. |

Thank you Very sad about your wife I hope all goes well for you all in the future :) We went to a new psych doc this morning & it was the most honest I have seen my son be with any of them. The doc said he would recommend lithium to his other doc who we see on the 27th. My son was all smiles for the rest of the day & really liked that doctor, it's a shame he is retiring soon :( Last Edited by miffed on 08/21/2012 10:14 AM |

miffed (OP) User ID: 22182497 Australia 08/21/2012 10:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Op my experience of akathisia is pacing while smoking a cigarette back and forth which I always do and sometimes in bed my legs are very restless. Yes that is what he does too, but hasn't said anything about restless legs. The first thing I am trying to do is get him off the invega sustenna (court ordered) injection. He has never been an angry or violent person before this drug so that is my number one priority. Next is to get him on a good stabilising medication so I can try to get him back to the orthomolecular therapy or maybe even Truehope's Empower Plus that someone earlier linked me to as it seems to have all of the ingredients ready to go which would be alot easier than alot of different suppliments. |

We have an appointment with a new psych doc at 7.30am because of the urgency (he cracked 2 days ago, threatened me severely & smashed the glass panel in my front door) He has been on I think 7 different meds in these 12 nonths & hasn't improved all that much really. Quoting: miffed He paces alot & talks/argues with himself with believe it or not is no one near as bad as having the religion induced 'voices' that he had previously. I will be asking for a re-evaluation as there is a history of Bipolar in my family & no schizophrenia & he suffers with mood swings/depression badly (it's when he is depressed the anger comes out. If you have a medication that has helped change your life for the better against either of these horrible afflictions please share TIA :) everry psyco i know had told me the same .... Snorting pure cocaine ..... wile listening to religious songs of peace & paradise ... |
